Was scrolling through some Moab photos earlier and noticed how everyone’s lighting setups are completely different. Some rigs are running big roof-mounted bars, others just have pods on the A-pillars, and a few keep it simple with ditch lights.

Got me thinking—if you could only run ONE lighting upgrade on your Jeep, what would it be? 👀

While spot lights are nifty; the most important thing I did was pillar mounted lights angled out at 45 degrees to illuminate the edges and drop offs when I’m back country, especially on roads with big drops. I hate turning without knowing what’s off my edge.

That's a very valid point and we couldn't agree more. "Ditch" Lights are very important. And our Mirror Ditch Lights are a great way to fill that need!!

Two KC lights on the front bumper and two mounted near the windshield. Looks awesome.

Just one? Baja Designs LP6 with the combo lens. This is what I have on my Gladiator.
Ideal? Big set of lights like the LP6 or KC (LED) daylighters, both with a combo lens on the bumper and a set of small pod lights on the windshield with a wide spread lens. This is what I run on my TJ.

if it's just one, then it's not even a second thought, have to go with my bumper mounted Diode Dynamics SS5 Pro with yellow combo lens...those things turn midnight into high noon

Factory LED headlight package with a Tazer so I can use high-beams with fogs.
Seriously, it's the easiest option. You just don't need long distance spot lights unless you are doing high speeds at night, I'm never going to out-drive my headlights on the trail in the dark.

If we are talking about adding more lights, probably cowl-mounted floodlight pods because they can be aimed ahead for more light down the trail or to the side to see around tight bends. They were the only lights I had on my last vehicle.

My truck came with massive bumper spot lights (since removed and in storage), a light bar that does a good job with flooding light around corners, rear-facing bumper flood lights, and cowl lights. The front bumper long-distance spots were the least-useful of all those.

I was told I need to drink more water.

I like corner illumination. Might stem from my snowmobiling days when you never know what's "out there."

If I'm not first in line on a trail ride, I go with parking lights, factory fogs, and my ditch lights. The ditch lights give me situational awareness, the fogs shed enough light on the obstacle between me and the Jeep ahead, and I don't blind everybody in front of me with my LED headlights or aftermarket driving lights.

@Sweetums I'm right there with you, I've got factory led up front and tazer. I do have a minimal badlands combo light bar on my bull bar. I need to get out and adjust it better, but it's probably at least even if not more how much light it throws down the road. The outside floods help a lot avoiding the roadside deer sausage

My other biggest peeve trail riding, turn off your auto lights. You get in some shade and they kick on, blinds the person mirrors in front of you

What lightbar mount is that? The VisionX one I have is made to be on top of the bar and I can't flip it, I need a deep drop to lower it.

If only one option…Rock lights on the trail…my headlights would be good enough to see what’s coming…I need to see better when I’m crawling a difficult obstacle. I even have rock lights on my adventure motorhome…

with that said, I have lots of lights on both my jeep and my adventure motorhome…in the middle of the night when the trail gets spicy, you just can’t have too much light…

There just bar mounts, nilight has been good for me, go to Amazon and search 'nilight bar mounts'. That's another one of the same bar clamps for my q/d tail flag mount too. They're not specific to anything, tube buggies, roll cages, it's just a clamp on a tube.

I do a lot of trail riding in and out of the everglades; for me, my go to is two LP6's in yellow to light it up
