Why?
They actually make sense.
Pushing the throttle 2/3 down to get 1/4 response is crazy. Drive one of my cars for a while then go back to the jeep lame throttle.
I prefer instant throttle response.
Which one do you use?

I have nothing on my 25, but my choice is the Banks Pedal Monster and when I get my other things done that I deem more important, that will be the way I'll go.
After driving my wife's JLU 4xe with the t-case in 4HA, or either of my cars, it reminds me of just how lame the throttle mapping is on these.
It's really hard to get into the JT and have to deal with the lag that doesn't exist on anything else we own - and it's been a bit dangerous at times when you NEED it to go, expect it to go - anything else would have gone already, and it thinks about it first. By the time you just "push harder", then you are into a place you didn't really want to go.
I want it to match how I have my cars, and my wife's 4xe - EVEN pedal - when you push half-way down, you have half throttle, period.
The ass who set up the dual carbs on one of my cars originally had it so that you had almost nothing in the first 1/3 of travel, then at about half, suddenly it opened things up big-time and you went sideways. Stupid. I totally changed the throttle linkage geometry on that. Much smoother and predictable now.

Isn't it interesting all this pent-up hate over something so very simple - some people having fun. The haters come out of the woodwork, just waiting to pounce any time it's brought up - in this case, it wasn't brought up as it's not a mod! But they had to prove how tough they are and how silly anyone else is over such a thing. Wow. No wonder there's so much trouble in the world right now. People really bent out of shape over some people having a bit of fun, relaxing and enjoying themselves. I bet the haters are on blood pressure meds and struggle to sleep at night, knowing they may have to see a Jeep with a duck the next day! How horrible.

I disagree

i disagree about the leveling kit. I have a Sport S and thought it looked dumb leaning forward. I have no intention of lifting my Jeep as I use it to haul my travel trailer and don't want to compromise the towing ability. I installed air bags in the back to prevent squat in my rig when hauling or towing. Maybe it's just my OCD but I prefer the rig level. That being said, the joy of the jeep is we own our rigs and can put whatever hideous stuff we want on them. If everyone in the world put angry grills on their jeep, we couldn't stop them. Que sera sera
I find it interesting that one of the first things people ask about (one of, not THE, first thing) is a leveling kit. For Mojave it's a non-issue, even Rubicon isn't so bad, but people really LIKE this much rake?

I use air bags to control droop when hauling, I don't need to be hunting night crawlers for fish bait while driving it. My other trucks didn't have so much rake. Some is good for hauling occasional loads of a few hundred pounds. But at least the Overland had some serious rake to it. And add a winch and you make it worse.
Leveling kits are mentioned a lot in these forums - people asking what's the best one and so on, and they sell like crazy from the looks of things. So the hate must be a small minority.
I bought each of mine to use as a truck, and even I thought the rake of the Overland was excessive (soft springs, yeah, I get it - but compensate with air bags instead of having so much difference in rear height all the time.)

I guess so. I dont hate ducks I just see another thing someone has gotten people believing they must be a part of.
Jeep started in 1941 .. this stuff started in 2021. I dont hate those that do ducks I just think its pointless. There is a woman near me who is short drives a JKU and has so many ducks on the dash I dont know how she navigates they are double and triple stacked . Now you tell me where the reality in that is.
99% of them buy them for themselves. So they can make other people belive someone put a duck on their Jeep.
Why am I even commenting on this I dont know . Its a deadhorse.

My wife earned 3 inside of a week, 2 of them in the same hour on the same day. Then another glittery one when it was parked in the hospital parking lot
I don't want rows of them. Just what I've gotten in some way is enough. Won't go out and buy them, and any that get in the way, get put in a bag under the rear seat so my wife can give out ducks when we travel.
Trust me, it's great to see a 67 year old woman acting like a kid now and then and having a whole lot of fun in life, vs. what things could be like - bitching about aches and pains, complaining about the world, whatever - she's the opposite. Ask her how she's doing and she'll say "wonderful!" even if she's had a rough day. Too much grumpy and hate in the world - and she doesn't care for that at all.

Overall im more referring to mods that primarily serve no legitimate purpose or are even counter-productive.

As I mentioned, I personally think clear lids is one of the dumbest things ever. Like either open the top or close it for Christ sake. But to have a "closed" clear top just to have a conversation starter imo, is a waste. Do we really "extra lighting" in the cab during the daytime to justify it or think; wow it's cool to look out my clear top when it's raining. Yeah ok.

We take off doors just to add "half" of them back. (Not referring to tubes cause they serve a purpose). We add poke to wheels, just to remove it with fender extensions, etc, etc.

DUCKS arent MODS. Like them or not.

Side note on the leveling kit arguments:
Of course this was over 3 years ago nearly stock. But as mentioned, I had a leveling kit myself. I'm not one of the ones saying a leveling kit is pointless like some. Agree with them or not, They do actually serve a purpose. Regardless if you agree with the purpose or not is a Different argument. But I do stand on the factory rake being minimal (as shown below). And as also mentioned I personally like the fact that my new AEV Dualsport incorporated it back in with the lift.

This is why I opted for the Mojave. I do not like the stance of the Rubicon.

Just because I'm curious. What purpose do tube doors serve that half doors don't?

Well for starters, If you have on a tube door, its safe to say you are committing to the open-air, doorless feel. Having them on, besides the "look" you get added safety, while still accomplishing said open air feel. Great for those wheeling with passengers, or just having smaller children. Open air, added benefit of safety etc. Not a hard concept.

Half doors not so much. So you want a regular door on? (which is cool) But you want the top (window trim area) half, off? Ok, got it. (and again, in all fairness I kind of like the look of a half door, just don't see the point. Either take the door off or on. What are you accomplishing by only the top half of a hard door, off. What do you only want a "portion" of the open-air feel? (which is ridiculous in itself) But even if thats the case, just roll your window down with your regular door on.

Not sure why this is hard to understand.

To me, tube doors and half doors are basically the same with some key feature differences. Tube doors are less practical. Half doors can be more practical IF they allow an upper. If its JUST the lower half and does not use an upper. Then I agree with you. Tube door is the better option. But like I said before. Full soft doors are the ultimate way to go if you don't want to run a full solid door.
