Your dad has great taste! I bought my crew cab F350 long bed in 1994. It is a pre Power Stroke diesel with a manual and has just over 100,000 miles. I get so many offers. Some of them more than I paid for it 31 years ago but I just can’t part with it.

That's sick! I'm glad to see there's other one-owner trucks this old still out there. We've never gotten dollar offers, but plenty that say "let me know when you're selling", or "let me know when you're dad's selling". He's not. It's in the will to my brother and I.

I like the old IDI diesels. Not fast, but they are eternal.

I have half doors on the back, none up front. I have them for driving the kids around. It looked quite silly to have the back doors on but no roof or front doors.

Pedal monster i love. Merging and highway driving, huge difference. For very dumb reasons the onramp for my daily commute is on the left so you gotta giddy up right away.

As for dumb mods, basically any non-oem grill looks terrible imo. Also the mesh grill backer things. I don't hate the look, but talk about impractical. As if there's an abundance of air flow to begin with.

Like op, I try to stay practical and tasteful. But like many others, I love that my jeep can be my jeep the way I want it. You do you, I'll wave when I see you. But I don't want your ducks. Keep em. You enjoy, not for me. Just a new bath toy for the kids

Why?
Red is legal on the rear and back half of the side.
As long as it's not visible up front, should be fine, so no red showing up front.

I used to run lights up under the fenders, in the wheel wells, of my first Javelin. I just made sure red for the rear, amber under the front, and it was fine.
The only time I got stuck was when I was running Christmas lights inside my AMX............... and I only did it for a couple of days. I knew better. He simply said "turn them off when on the roads". OK.

Actually an interesting idea - with the right angle on that thing, your JT could take off like the flying nun at interstate speeds.
