If they ever build something like this I can guarantee you they'll never name it "Africa" The media would make a huge deal out of any type of race implications- that would be the end of Jeep for sure.

I think it would be a sweet vehicle- they just have to be VERY careful these days. I'm kinda surprised they can still use the word Cherokee.

Totally agree with the name concerns.

Meanwhile the Cherokee are OG Americans. What better people to name anything after?

Africa could be something like the Dakar, Serengeti, or even just the "Wrangler Safari Edition".

Africa is the name of a continent, not a race nor ethnicity. The real problem with it would likely be a trademark infringement with Honda Motor Company. They own and sell the Africa Twin motorcycle.

I believe we are coming to a time where we are about done catering to the vocal minority that like to throw tantrums every time they feel offended. With is a constant thing with them. Put a pacifier in it snowflake and shut it up:computerrage:

(Im in no way calling anyone here a snowflake at this time)

this to is why the sahara trim is not exported, its called overland but still the same trim level, toyota use sahara as their top spec landcruiser trim over here & i asume other parts of the world
now why the gladiator is called overland rather than sahara for your domestic market i asume they felt the name would better reflect its intended use
thats my guess anyway

How about we get one before we worry about the other?

It would be cool if they came out with a wranglers like this. Hopefully if it ever came out it would have 3 rows of seats. I could see it be called the Jeep safari or jeep wrangler safari or the Wagoneer. The Wagoneer makes the most sense because the original gladiator shared it's platform with the wagoneer. If this jeep africa becomes a reality then it would probably share it platform with the gladiator.

You do realize both the wagoneer and the grand wagoneer are already planned for production, right?

I don't care. I was just pointing out what would make the most sense. But from what I understand the plans of the grand wagoneer and wagoneer is mostly speculation other than the fact that jeep will be getting a full size truck based suv. But that's probably the grand wagoneer. No one really knows what the Wagoneer will be, people did speculate that it would be the commander that just revealed for other markets. But jeep has already said that it will not be for the US market, it is rumored that a commander based suv will come to Chryslers lineup but not jeep. Again nothing is for sure about the wagoneer right now until someone from jeep officially says something.

That is correct, I believe it's being based on the new Ram 1500 platform will have 3rd row seating.
https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a...targets-range-rover-wrangler-pickup-on-track/

perhaps this has changed since 2017, if so, I apologize for my misinformation (Alternative Facts).

This is from 3/13/2018, http://www.autospies.com/news/What-...To-Topple-The-Escalade-And-Range-Rover-95811/ Sounds like an opinion, but there were some things cited in the article. Geneva Motor Show 2018 quote.

LMAO, i went through all of that, and realized you wrote "correct", not "INCORRECT".

Arguing with myself again,

The 2020 Defender looks like 3 row seating. LR is going with a long and short version of the new Defender (90 and 110?) for now with the "130" in works with the 3rd row.
