Jeep is known for electrical problems in todays vehicles. They can't make a stable entertainment system. I'm not buying a Jeep EV.
You need to read what people say about Ford's infotainment or electrical issues. It's the biggest complaint across all lines except Toyota and that's because they wait a year or two after the others introduce something. They are always behind on electronics and infotainment.
Jeep isn't any more "known" for electric issues than most of the others..
Jeep is in good company with VW, Land Rover, Audi and others.

Buddy, no one is out to make you buy an electric Jeep.

There's no need to make up reasons why you can't.

Like it can't be repaired like your gas Jeep, which doesn't require repairs, you admit...

So move the goal post to it'll run out of power, when you probably never run out of gas anyway...

Just don't buy one, it's way easier than trying to convince everyone else they can't use one.

Disagree. I have made plenty of trail repairs over the years. I have never thrown a rod on a trail or otherwise. I've never lost a transmission. You guys make it seem like ICE engines aren't fully developed and extremely reliable these days. What usually messes up are computers. Electrical gremlins are usually the hardest to track down and the only 2 dealer visits I've had in the last decade. If I could get rid of 90% of that in today's cars I would. In addition, Jeep is known for electrical problems in todays vehicles. They can't make a stable entertainment system. I'm not buying a Jeep EV. I have used jerry cans multiple times. Out west there are plenty of places you can get far out. Even in the midwest. Electric ratings go out the window the same as gas when you are wheeling. Not any different. The range just isn't there today. And carrying 500 watts of solar is not a trivial task.
Not a trivial task to mount a single commercial panel on the roof? Mounting a roof to tent is more involved and how many thousands of those are out there? Sure there are plenty of trail repairs you can make, and likely hundreds more you can't.

I'm trying to convince anyone. Those are the same reasons I stated in my first post as to why I'm not buying one. EVs are simply not a mature technology.

Purely anectdotal, but between the Jeep and Ford in my driveway, the Jeep gives me electrical issues and the Ford doesn't.

Neither is ICE power - they keep moving the goal posts and keep making changes. Nothing mature about it, otherwise we'd have stopped with the small block chevy in the mid-60s. Oh, wait, we can change this and make it better - so move to the 70s - oops, more changes, I guess it wasn't ready to call mature.

Carburetors were trouble - some could be fixed in the field, others not - how about a float that absorbed fuel while on the trail, flooding the engine. So go with EFI - oops, now we have electric fuel pumps that can fail.

I'd say that EVs are just as mature - plenty of people own and drive them as their only vehicle and don't have any more issues than those with gas vehicles have.

And by the way, a study by an international fire-fighters group said that your gas or diesel vehicle is MORE likely to catch fire than an EV. Given 100,000 ICE powered vehicles vs. 100,000 EVs, there are more fires related to ICE vehicles than EVs.
Just that the media and forums and EV haters love to concentrate on the few fires that happen with the latter.

Initial quality concerns and vehicle complaints - infotainment issues are a big thing.
That was about 3 years ago. As of today, it looks like Chevy, VW, BMW, Audi and Land Rover lead the complaint list.

You do know that computers control nearly every moving part inside your current engine and transmission right?
He can fix those on the trail though with his abacus.

Except because of them, he never needs to fix anything on the trail.

But anyway, way too complex, give me a trusty mule, which I also would be unable to fix on a trail.

Salt and pepper and the camp fire is the best way to "fix" the mule...

I thought mules were already "fixed" in a way............due to the odd number of chromosomes.

My Jeep hasn't had any electrical issues. Now the engine, that hasn't been stable.

My 2022 had one electric issue - resolved with the connections at the bus star connector. Otherwise, no electric issues.

My 2020 had no electric issues after I charged the batteries independently and reset the IBS.

So far, no issues at all with the 2025.
