Disposeable you say? The new TT6 has Sprayed-on cylinder liners.
Maybe they have some sprayable J-B Weld. If so, it will last forever.

Why is that a problem? Spraying crankshafts, camshafts and other parts has been done for decades. It's no more of a problem than pressing in liners or casting them in.

Typically V8s make more torque than I6s.
Typically V8s are a lot more displacement than I6s.......... but give me a V8 of the same displacement of a typical I6 and I bet the I6 will deliver more torque.

V8s are typically more displacement, but they usually do make more torque.

Ford 300 vs 302, the 302 makes more torque.

What about below 2500 RPM?

Who cares? We've got an 8 speed and a 77-1 crawl ratio in a stock rubicon. I'm not trying to idle around and I've never met anyone who is. You can easily be well over 3k rpm at 3mph. "But it makes more power when it doesn't need to and you're not trying to get any power out of it"?

Who's talking about a Rubicon with automatic, or "crawling"?
Now things are getting twisted to fit an agenda.

Trying to envision the scenario where you'd need torque at low rpms. The thing will go from idle to way past 2500rpm in a fraction of a second with a simple push of the throttle. Even in the least off road biased trims you've got a 50-1 crawl ratio and a 4.7-1 1st gear. You don't need torque under 2k in any circumstance I've ever encountered.

Sure nice to have when towing with a 3.73 gear ratio. Yes, there's a TC up there, but it is still a lot easier to take off with a heavy load with lower end torque. You don't get into the 3.6s torque area when taking off from a stop - these don't have 2500 stall converters.
Who cares about crawl ratio when towing.

I might be more liberal with the skinny pedal than most, but even with the 8200lb trailer there was no issue taking off. Not even parked on a hill. Yes I have 4.10s in the mojave...and 37s. Sure you don't have a 2500 stall converter, but it will still slip enough to get you well into the power band in a fraction of a second. I don't care if you chained the truck to an immovable object. It would just as quickly jump into the power band and then spin the tires.

I made that same decision. Last thing I want in the middle of the Mojave desert is a turbo or hydrid system SNAFU. Just wanted a boring 8 Cyl.
Fixed it for ya!

I'd rather see the strait 6 than the hemi. The hemi is disposable and heavy, inline motors are torque monsters
Bam !!!
