Most states limit how dark the front windows can be, there are no such restrictions on windows behind the B-pillar

OK, you're right. I forgot about some States being more restrictive on tinting. Honestly, here in Florida, my '24 JTR came about as dark as I would ever want, all windows. You can leave stuff on the seats and it would be tough for anyone to even look in and know something was there.

I'll post a pic later but I guess it's a Florida thing and possibly other Southern States. If the windows were clear and closed in the sun, you would literally have a sauna inside.

And yet that's how cars were sold - with clear glass. Tinted was an option or it came with AC - yes, even in the south.

Many dealers in southern states add tinting to all their vehicles when they arrive and pass the cost to the buyer. A buddy just bought a car from a dealer in Arizona that wanted to put on a tint illegal in the delivery state - at an absurd markup.
The car hadn’t been tinted yet, but the dealer said all their cars get the tint and it was “non-negotiable.”

It cost them the sale.

In Louisiana we were limited to 40% here recently, which isn't much. Meant that you could really only run about 35% before the stickler cops noticed or before inspection stations started failing you.

The law changed to 25% recently which is an odd number again, but it basically means now if you running standard 20% (which my truck has) nobody is going to bother you anymore.

I remember I bought a 2003 Dodge Durango here (FL) and it was tinted from the factory to Florida standards according to the dealer (dark on the back windows and sort of medium on the front windows). He asked me if I wanted the front windows to match. He said it's technically not legal but most get it done. I said yes and at the time he said that was $149 and I said go for it. I thought it was rather odd for a new car dealer (a major one here) to offer something that is technically not legal but I guess it is one of the things that is just so common here that no one seems to care.

He mentioned if I wanted all the windows even darker to take it to one of the tint shops he mentioned nearby and they will do whatever I wanted. He said just don't do the totally black shiny thing since that may draw attention from the police. So goes Miami.

Harley was doing that for years to get around EPA requirement.

Basically, they couldn't make an engine that met emissions standards because they were suck on using 100 year old engine geometry and cooling - stuff that we knew didn't work in the 1940s. Anyway, they were selling these bikes that would barely run on the factory tune and quickly overheat, but give buyers an "accessory allowance" and "strongly encourage" them to buy a tune, aftermarket "not for road use" pipes that don't have cats and a few other things.
They got slapped with $12 million in fines and had to buy back the tune kits and destroy the entire stock.

Harley's argument was that any aftermarket changes to the bikes were on the customer since the bikes had technically been sold. What the customer spent that accessory allowance on was on them, not HD.

Good day everyone, Got two questions -
1. Any information if these wheels are upgraded for strenght to fit the gladiator platform or most likely the same specs they used on the 4xe '41 special last year? (17-inch Olive Drab painted wheels)

2. What is the color of that tan/sand decal on the 392 cammando ? I know the two primary colors for the glafiator '41 is drab olive and decals is drab blue(slate blue?) Interior has mantis green stiching ?

Intersted because last year i wanted to make my own freedom style edition using the '41 and max tow trim. Now i got that itch again :) ($$) Oh lord

Plenty of examples of it "never ends well" selling the defeat device adjacent to the product that is suppose to remain compliant.

Anyone got any deets on the door hinges? And if they'd be retro-modded onto previous years? I'd welcome an easier way to take the doors off and back on again.

Imagine if they would just put the female pin side on the door harness instead of the body harness how much easier it would be to repair

Why would they be upgraded for strength? People swap JL and JT wheels back and forth all the time.
(frankly, they look more massive than the base Rubicon and Mojave wheels to me.)
