Gonna start calling you Jane,
that's just so plain.😁
The hood-line is longer than the bed in that picture. So you have the hood line, passenger area taking up over 2/3 of the thing, with less bed than what's ahead of the windshield. Proportions are off, IMO.

It's the angle of the picture. The bed is longer than the front end. Most pickups are just plain and don't have any character, not like the Gladiator.

New enough to be super comfortable, old enough to be easy to work on. LS engine before DOD so its reliable as death and taxes. The 4L60E transmission if nothing else is simple, cheap and easy to fix - and more or less super reliable if you get a good unit and dont beat it to death. Parts are cheap and abundant, I could go on.

Im biased though. Me and my friends have many of those era trucks over the years and they are our 'go to'.

With DoD on LS just put an LS7 valvetrain on and call it a day.
I used HP Tuners to turn it off in my SS Camaro. Hoping that if they don't have to unlock anymore then the lifters will live a lot longer 😂 Usually the problem occurs when they unlock to collapse and then won't lock again. Or the pins shear off 😂

My 2008 G8 GT blew up at 68k from DoD. I was so pissed off I had it fixed under warranty and sold it.

Both of my 09s had DOD intact and working. One had 87k when I sold it, and the other had 135k when I sold it. Both were fun to drive ticking time bombs.

Push the skinny pedal .
I do. It goes 0-60 in a week. I have to punch it when I leave my driveway. One day I am sure something in the engine is going to want to start seeing other people.

Well since Jeep won't do it, and it cost 30k to drop a hemi in it, I think I am going old school and make this the second jeep with a GM drivetrain. I think it will get a 6.0 with either a 4L80E, or a 6L80E. Should be under 10k to make it happen, and I will never have to worry about reliability, or power. And since my truck is now 10k more than it it was in 2021, I can spend that additonal money to get some real power. My first V8 conversion was a 350 in a 81 CJ8 with stock 4 speed, and Holly pro-jection, and it was fun to drive.

Yeah, and from my perspective, it's a rather plain jane, unattractive truck........ but that's my perspective.
