Looks like there's no real hurry to strip this one down............... if they don't fix it and get it through final inspection/audit tomorrow, it's done until the end of January.

At least the trade price has been locked in! So I'll tell her - DRIVE the damned thing, who cares how many miles it has on it now. And in another month, we'll have more money to put down, dropping the loan amount even more than she planned!

Or................

see if it's possible to find a shop that will put a full time transfer case in a Rubicon non-X or a Sahara.
I look at it this way - it would probably cost no more!
If we could get the EXACT thing she wants, minus all of the recon package stuff, and get the transfer case put in all nice and neat - it might just be worth it.

Jeep is really screwed up - that company has issues.
So the dealer said "delivery on 12-16-25.
The web site said "estimated delivery 1-11-2026"
However, the plant is shut down until the 21st so how is it possible that a Jeep would be completed and shipped while the plant was shut down?
I looked today and the delivery date has been removed. It was built on 12-7-25, then went into inspection, then into audit where it sat for weeks.

It must have massive issues to sit like that for 2 weeks, no window sticker, no estimated time or delivery date at all.

Taking a long time from order date to build date is one thing, sitting after being completed and passing inspection and waiting for shipping is one thing, but holy cow, do we even want a Jeep that's been pulled and sitting unable to pass inspection for two weeks?
It has me really worried that it will be a massive lemon. If the engine failed, then it's take the body off and build the thing again, if it's a transmission issue, same thing, take it all apart and replace a major part.
I really want to track exactly WHY it's in audit, exactly what the problem was, and if anything of a major nature - refuse it.

It doesn't have massive issues, it has poor timing.

It's literally just waiting for some version of me, maybe literally me lol, to go look at it.

It's almost certainly some cosmetic defect that the end user would never ever see.

I get called all the time for gaps between the headliner panels, that you can see the white top through, that aren't a spec..

Then get over there and check it out LOL

Oh, my wife would notice. She noticed the boo-boos on the dash after Safelite replaced the glass - 3 other people missed the spots.

2 weeks, they must be short-staffed.

Engineers get vacation and celebrate holidays too. Just like real people.

I was always told engineers weren't real people (JUST KIDDING!)

Well, enjoy it.

I love the TV commercials where it says at the bottom "real people, not actors" I assume it's because actors are not real people?

Order processed November 14th
Jeep built December 6th/7th.
This is January 22 of the following year - NO word, it's not moved an inch!
Even our dealer called the regional rep and HE can't find anything out.

I saw a plaid cow once. Then I sobered up………
Hmmm, if you are ever up this way, I'll have to buy you a couple of rounds. Sounds like fun.

You really thought the very first thing they did on the very first day after a four week shut down was go straight to your Jeep, past the other 20 Jeeps in QH and get it moving? I know exactly where your Jeep is, as does the sales rep lol.

I'm glad I'm not in sales 😂

And for everyone following along, the more misc crap you add to your order, the more likely it is to get knocked down in audit.

This may sound dumb, but I literally ordered my truck with the bare minimum equipment that I would be happy with in an attempt to expedite the process.

I chose nothing that required it to go across the highway to the Mopar shop.

No bedliner, no dual tops, no bed cover. Etc.

Two months exactly, order to dealer. At the time that seemed quicker than most.

🤷‍♂️ 🤣

🤷‍♂️ 🤣

They used to crash them into each other at the upfitter all the time.

In about 2022, I pointed out, why are you guy's running them in a through, through the plant, then all the way back up to the same door? Just put a door on the other end and run them in one end and out the other, instead of in and out the same door at a 90 degree approach angle.

Couple months later I was there, they had a out door in the far wall, I said, oh you got another door, neat, why is it in the side and not the exact opposite wall though?

Oh, that door was already there 🙄 We just had it blocked with some boxes 😂
