I remember in high school the teacher says that we are over due for an ice age. That was early 70's. Now we all are going to melt from global warming. Not one prediction has ever come true.

Digging up an old thread...
I had to take one of my scuba tanks back to dive shop for a fill. In shooting the breeze with them, started on scuba diving stuff. The guy there that hauled my tank back out to my Gladiator. Most of my scuba diving gear is as old as he is. In fact the three tanks I have are almost his age. The age thing is hitting me somewhat, I found several of my tee-shirts I've had packed up for years. I forgot about Nassau Bahamas trip even. Damn that was a block of leave, several high bar bills on my C.C. traveled down the coast of Florida ended up at Jimmy Buffet's house on a Sunday morning. Somewhere during it I was in Nassau, I don't know who boat, to many shots of Wild Turkey, rum, raw oysters. A old Army buddy and I started at Red Lobster with his parents, his father was a retired Army COL.

Just about the whole family is at my youngest stepson's ranch in NM for fly fishing and new years. Started talking about old movies and ended up watching Blazing Saddles. Some of them never heard or seen it.

What ages me or makes me feel old? Mirrors, mostly. That and lower back pain... and a knee that sounds like a goat chewing on celery every time I bend it.

Every morning I look into the bathroom mirror and an old catchers mitt stares back at me. My son was 34 when he had his first seizure. He was a sponsored down hill racer. He got the best medical there is. He was gone in 3 years due to brain cancer. My only son. My daughter had died a few years earlier from diabetes . No grand kids. Parents are gone. No siblings. Have not seen my ex in many years. It's getting harder to do stuff but I just don't care. I buy what I want. I'll have Shift Auto install it. Happy new year, life is good.

My back makes me feel old. My gray hairs in my beard too. I’m 47 and pretty fortune to be in good physical condition for my age. I can still run, workout and do physical work with the young guys. That being said, my back is getting pretty bad. I might have to suck it up and go see a dr. It’s pretty painful in the mornings before I can stretch it out.

Work in aircraft manufacturing as a shop floor liaison engineer. Within the last few years, I became cognizant of my older age when the shop guys started calling me "sir" and by default, I am the last stop as a "subject matter expert" and if I do not have the answer, we are in a world of shit.

In my brain, I still think I am mid 20's and just waiting for them to figure out that my superpower is just being able to find the answer in the same reference material the shop floor has, but just quicker.

Nothing sucks more to be a wiki - Don, at work, it will wear you down while Mgt squirms on what to do about it and how to fund it. Simple and cheap solution: wear AI and make it know what you know…teach your Companies future one to many. You solve it for them, and you‘ll feel better about your legacy.
