Folks, there is ALMOST NO airflow coming out of the rear vents (unless I turn up the fan to full) -- and yes, I do set the hvac to VENT mode.

Is this a known issue -- it's always been like that, but now that it's so cold out -- we want the rear vents to hear for our dog in the back.

Is there anything to check -- maybe something obstructing the vents? Is it normal to have such poor air flow in the rear vents?

Yea I had the same question made a post on here about it. Seems it is normal for these vehicles. It was recommended to close vents on the dash up front to help rear cabin airflow.

It was quite disappointing to see how little airflow the rear gets. I am hoping the AC will do ok in the summer

Replace your cabin filter. If you still need more flow, close a vent or two on the dash.

its just weak in general. I know my 2025 with 7k miles is. The climate system in these vehicles is pretty crap. There no point in having temperature settings, its either HOT or COLD....want something in between? Forget it.

I had the same issues with my '23 but not with my 2019. Replace your cabin air filter. The OEM one is way to restrictive. I run Doc Diesel cabin air filter. Its a neat 2 piece design.

You’re probably talking about on the heat setting right? It comes out under the seat. Mine works pretty good with AC coming out of the rear vents.

Yes, I am talking about the rear vents on HEAT. The front is fine (although the split temp system is kind of a joke -- I can set mine to 65 and my wife sets hers to 75 - - mine and her vents are pretty much the same temp. It seems to be a binary like 93civejl says -- HOT or COLD. No lukewarm, etc. like most cars.
I will look into replacing the cabin filter with something else, but honestly this has been like this since the Jeep was brand new.....

Looks like the Doc Diesel cabin air filter is ONLY for the diesel engine. I have a Sport-S with the 3.6
gas engine.
Anyone have any other good options?

Its the same. It'll work just fine in your gasser. I use the doc diesel cabin air filter in my wifes 2019 JL. I've also used cabin air filters that I originally bought for my wife's 2019 JL in my 2023 JT diesel. The one piece design works, but its a bit awkward removing and replacing. The 2 piece is an awesome design.

I can see where a filter would help with air flow but how would that help on temperatures?

Does your have auto climate control? I find that to be temperamental at best in many conditions.

I often just run mine in manual mode where I can get it to blow the air correctly / correct temp - but I am very fussy about climate. Today the truck said it was 47* outside and its blow hot air at me with the temp set to 65* and I'm like BRO I'm gonna die in here, so I took over.

My 2015 Camaro SS has regular ole manual climate control and not a day goes by that I miss that junk in my Gladiator when driving that car.

Really? Mine never comes out of auto and it’s always comfortable. I rarely even adjust the temp. If I do, it’s a degree or two.

The only time I really mess with it is in summer when it’s really hot. I’ll put it on low when it’s 95 degrees and I’m stuck in traffic and the heat is radiating. The headliner insulation wasn’t available yet when I bought mine and I never got around to buying it.

The way the Auto climate system works is based on an outside temp sensor and an inside temp sensor. Until the inside temp is close enough to the request temp, it will either focus on heating or cooling that area as fast as possible. I learned this by testing as I also don't like being blasted with hot/cold air until it's within a few degrees of what I've requested. Auto HVAC functions are always turned to manual in every vehicle I've had with it.

NOTE: the passenger temps also regulate the REAR passenger temps, not left and right for both front and rear.

Also, try setting the vents to both face AND feet if you want more out of the rear. Using the feet and/or feet/defrost won't push any air to the upper rear vents.

yeah I have auto in there, but I never use it as I dont want it always blasting full speed.
