Dude, we have an Acura MDX (my wife has driven 5 of them in a row) and we're having issues with Honda Corporate on the LKAS camera. The camera should be recalled as a ton of Hondas and Acuras are having problems. It's a non-warranty $1800 fix. 👎

Every manufacturer has its problems. Yes some moreso than others, but the owners that are passionate about their vehicles tend to be more involved / louder. It's not like a sea of Honda Odyssey owners are grabbing their pitchforks over the LKAS issue :CWL:

Two main reasons the Jeep Gladiator won my purchase:
• Naturally Aspirated Engine.
• Other Manufacturer's Problems
But the 3.6L is one of Chryslers worst motors to date. The 3.8L was far worse but the 3.6l isn't much better.

Just got the consumers report in the mail today, jeep is the worst vehicle over all again. My first jeep was a new cj7 in 1985, my Gladiator is my 6th jeep. Only problem I ever had was the gas cap issue on my 07 rubi jk. The only problem I see for the most part is a lose nut behind the wheel.

Now that’s rich. It has a reputation for being a long lasting workhorse for a long time. I’m not even trying to be a jerk. There’s just no basis to that. I can name off a bunch of engines they had that were considerably worse. Also, the 3.8l last a very long time too with reasonable care.

Availability and price, it says it in the article. When I worked for Gm the very first day the recall hit I had to wait 6 weeks for 3 drums of the super car oil. Ended up cleaning out all the local parts stores of their supplies just to satisfy customers. Now they’re realizing the oil isn’t t going to do anything but mask the problem, the customers that pass the picoscope test get a oil change, a new oil cap and page to put in the owners manual they probably don’t have. This is all in Gm’s tab, now that they have the chance to save a buck you better believe they will.

Personal belief is that every truck will pass the test in hopes that putting a heavier oil it in will get the customer out of warranty before their engine seizes and potentially strands or kills them. Stellantis is bad but I think Gm is right up there with them.

Edit: we did hundreds of tests and not a single one failed, the only ones that got new engines were the trucks that seized up and were still under warranty.

Everyone says this, but I’ve had 4of them, jk’s, jl’s, and jt.

Over 450k between the 4 and never a trip to the shop, ever. 150 on 2, 120 on one, and 35 on my current one.

Everyone doesn’t say that. The 3.6l earned its reputation of being a long lasting reliable engine. There are lots in fleets that aren’t even very well taken care of with 200k+ miles.

Truth, forum rules; let’s say 5k people have issues and bitch about it online versus the millions and millions of trouble free engines makes this one a pos lol.

Yep. Worst vehicle ever. Yet we can rake them over the coals and then hop on the highway without a pause. I couldn’t be happier. But none of them are perfect. Not claiming that.

When I purchased my 2001 Ford Ranger new, I got a $1500 discount for taking the 4 litre engine instead of the 3. The 4.0 was not Ford's finest V6, but 25 years and 405,000 miles later I'm still on the original engine. So if I can get 400,000 plus from a Ford V6, I'm feeling pretty good about my Jeep 3.6. 😁👍

The 3.8L also had a reputation for being easy to work on . Alot of JK owners still out there wheelin' with a 3.8L. I know a guy in WV that has one that runs like a top.
