But the 3.6L is one of Chryslers worst motors to date. The 3.8L was far worse but the 3.6l isn't much better. Two main reasons the Jeep Gladiator won my purchase:
• Naturally Aspirated Engine.
• Other Manufacturer's Problems
That’s like both ZF and GM both when they first came out with their 8 speed autos. They had a new fluid every 6 mo before they finally got it right.GM Once Again Changes Recommended Oil for Recalled 6.2-Liter V-8s https://share.google/CoZwQviGVsCuIgGHQ
Now that’s rich. It has a reputation for being a long lasting workhorse for a long time. I’m not even trying to be a jerk. There’s just no basis to that. I can name off a bunch of engines they had that were considerably worse. Also, the 3.8l last a very long time too with reasonable care. But the 3.6L is one of Chryslers worst motors to date. Everyone says this, but I’ve had 4of them, jk’s, jl’s, and jt.But the 3.6L is one of Chryslers worst motors to date. The 3.8L was far worse but the 3.6l isn't much better.
Everyone doesn’t say that. The 3.6l earned its reputation of being a long lasting reliable engine. There are lots in fleets that aren’t even very well taken care of with 200k+ miles.Everyone says this, but I’ve had 4of them, jk’s, jl’s, and jt.
Over 450k between the 4 and never a trip to the shop, ever. 150 on 2, 120 on one, and 35 on my current one.
Truth, forum rules; let’s say 5k people have issues and bitch about it online versus the millions and millions of trouble free engines makes this one a pos lol.Everyone doesn’t say that. Yep. Worst vehicle ever. Yet we can rake them over the coals and then hop on the highway without a pause. I couldn’t be happier. But none of them are perfect. Not claiming that.Just got the consumers report in the mail today, jeep is the worst vehicle over all again. My first jeep was a new cj7 in 1985, my Gladiator is my 6th jeep. Only problem I ever had was the gas cap issue on my 07 rubi jk. The only problem I see for the most part is a lose nut behind the wheel.
When I purchased my 2001 Ford Ranger new, I got a $1500 discount for taking the 4 litre engine instead of the 3. The 4.0 was not Ford's finest V6, but 25 years and 405,000 miles later I'm still on the original engine. So if I can get 400,000 plus from a Ford V6, I'm feeling pretty good about my Jeep 3.6.But the 3.6L is one of Chryslers worst motors to date. The 3.8L was far worse but the 3.6l isn't much better.
The 3.8L also had a reputation for being easy to work on . Alot of JK owners still out there wheelin' with a 3.8L. I know a guy in WV that has one that runs like a top.Now that’s rich. Both Post are soo true I am almost ready to roll 150,000 and mine runs really well, yes I have kept up maintenance on my motor .Truth, forum rules; let’s say 5k people have issues and bitch about it online versus the millions and millions of trouble free engines makes this one a pos lol.
