Hello Guys,

I just put on a set of Wildpeaks AT4Ws on my 2020 JTR and they were great, but I was never a car guy and didn't realize my shop put on P rated 2857017 116T (I told them to fit it with my driving routines: Highways). I used to have the factory Falken Wildpeaks AT3W that actually has a C load Range.

I spent sometime online and heard a lot of different voices, and as of right now I think they might be just fine for me.

99% of the time I'm in cities and I'm too busy in the next couple of years to go off-road, only some gravel roads and camping trips in Canada, rest of the times on Highways going 130km/h below.

Should I be worried about The load range? or it will be just fine for me, as they are being driven for some decent distances I don't think I can swap them anymore.

I have attached the spec of AT3WC and AT4WSL in below, other than the weight of the tire itself, I think it hasn't changed much.

Other than this, will I fail inspection because my door sticker indicated a LT285/70/R17 C and I've read online that it might not pass the inspection due to different load index. Just considered that in case I might move before out of province before this tire gives up.

Let me know and Thanks again!

@KWRubi I’m running the Wild Peak AT3W that came on my Rubicon. I’ve been on the trails before, but for various reasons the only ā€œoff roadā€ I will likely see in the future is well maintained granite gravel NC forest service roads, and not often. And I don’t tow. It’s usually just me in the JT with maybe the wife on pavement, or carrying ~75 sticks of firewood I pick up a couple miles away.

So my question, how much of a difference are you seeing with your Jeep’s road manners with the AT4W’s? I just put a set of Bilstein 5100’s on it, and not above swapping to different tires too.

I went t from the stock 33ā€ AT3W ā€˜s 35ā€ AT4W’s and see no discernible difference , if anything the ride is a little softer. I did drop the pressure from 36 to 30.

Ok the best thing you could do to set your mind at ease? Drive your JT over a Cat Scale at a local truck stop, loaded as is on a normal day. That’s to find out your total curb weight with you and your normal equipment. Let say for the sake of argument that is 5,000lbs for a nice even number. The look at your sidewalls for manufacturers weight rating at max PSI. On the graft you posted that’s 2,679 lbs at 51psi. Thats a total allowable legal limit of 4x2,679=10,716 lbs! That in theory means your 5,000lbs truck could run those tires at half of 51psi! So yeah you have nothing to worry about running those tires at 30 for smooth ride but loosing mileage, or 35 for slightly flinty ride but little more mileage. To be totally safe and legal, be sure to find the payload rating, mine is 1,044 lbs. and the GVWR is 5,800lbs. That means if you truck weighs 5,000, you can legally haul 800 lbs! Total load all together.

Don’t P rated tires have a fudge factor ?

You’ll never overload those SL tires with max weight.

I don't feel anything other than smoother ride since my old AT3Ws are cupping horribly.. If that's what your asking :)

I think I would never over load the truck since usually just me and my partner on it.

Also that's a very detailed explanation thank you for that!
