I did it because the intake was already off. I also needed to take the fuel rail and lower intake off to get to the oil cooler/filter housing so I was in even further than if I was just replacing plugs. Admittedly, of all the preventive maintenance I've done the injectors are the one thing I didn't really need to do.
To me it just seemed like the right thing to do while everything was gonna be ripped off. Also I will add the tips were filthy and stained. The new ones are quieter just a smidgen.. I did have a 130k when I did it .

Nothing beats the while you are at it maintenance a lot better than should have done it while it was apart.

I should have mentioned in my post that I had 97k miles or so when I did mine. I wouldn't have replaced the injectors unless I was near 100k like I was.

I guess it neds to be on my ā€œnot short listā€ soon. I’m over 85k now. Is 100 the recommendation?

I don't believe there is a specified service life for injectors. I was doing my plugs and oil cooler/filter housing so it was a "while I am here" job. If I had lower milage I wouldn't have bothered, though. The injectors are super easy to replace if the upper intake is already off, but they aren't inexpensive so there isn't any reason to replace them if they haven't failed. I had both my upper and lower intake plenums off so I already had the injectors out of the truck. In my head it didn't make sense to put injectors with nearly 100k miles on them back in when I already had them apart and out of the truck. Was it worth it? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I would have done the same. Thanks. I’ll just do it the next time the intake needs to come off for some reason.

As too wether it was worth ut I say yes as mine ticked up about 1 mpg almost immediately, doesn't seem like a lot if you short trip but I am thinking better atomization and cleaner burns . I think it was worth it.

I don't think I'll be following suit if my intake is off, but I don't see anything wrong with the logic if you want to spend the money.

I have an injector pulser (its a little box I can run fuel injectors with on the bench) and adapters to spray cleaner through them while pulsing them - so I could see myself bench cleaning them while they are out - but probably not replacing.
