I fly da plane...
Recasted 15 lbs of lead scuba weights into round balls for "soft weights" yesterday.

Prior batch in second picture, I cast them originally in 1996, with the steel cylinders I did have I didn't need weights for many years even with drysuit. I didn't want to part with them but when I moved sold house and downsized I had to decide what to part with over 124 pounds in 2 "tanks" moving them around and getting filled serviced ect wasn't always easy.
Along with deciding to maybe build a deck at front of my cabin now. Everytime I get a "good idea" starting. Maybe a 5-6 foot walking area about 16 ft long for starter. Was thinking that I was going to install upgrade steering linkage on JT yesterday. . . Sidetracked from that one.
Internal monologue:
You're not a preteen anymore... Don't say it... Don't say it... Don't say it...

"DAMN DARRELL, YOU'VE GOT A LOT OF BALLS!"

I'm so ashamed right now...

What caliber are those soft weights?
Well over .5 inch over 54 cal probably close to 60 cal if that's a thing.

It's setting on a cutoff 50 cal BMG case.

Brass from last 2 50 BMG rounds I fired.

Ammo for sling shots.
Would definitely be great for that, I used 36 cal and 45 cal lead ball in the past for that. I "wacked" a beaver with a 45 lead ball with a slingshot on a "Hail Mary" shot once. I put it up after that shot.

I had one of those wrist rockets years ago. Think my brother has it now.

Oh the good ideas fairy kicked in, so starting to add on a front deck... So as to do it right I'm extended roof out before building the deck. Planning on 32'x5' to start. Of course then I'll need to close in and screen for bugs.

OMG. Those slingshots bring back so many memories. We had 13 kids on our street that were all within 2 years of each other in age. We used to use these things and shoot crab apples out of them at each other. A few of us kids were from hunting families, so we'd cover ourselves with thick camo vest, pants, coveralls, jackets, etc and would usually survive the battles with minimal welts on our bodies compared to the other kids who would be out there with T shirts, shorts, etc.
We were lucky nobody lost an eye or took any shots to the face! HAHAHHAHA

Finally cleaned my solar panels yesterday evening. For those with ground mounts, the Bora sweeper mop thing with the microfiber rag thing as the head is absolutely perfect for this. Filled the reservoir with Dawn dish soap and water. Wet em, scrub em, and rinse em. Does the perfect job. My panels are about 7’ tall at a 30* angle @ 6” off the ground and I could easily reach the entire panel. It’s become a hobby……

The slingshots reminded me.

A guy I know got married, and the groom decided all the groomsmen would open carry for the ceremony.

Anyway - one of the groomsmen (despite having a 1911 he typically carries) got permission to carry a sling shot in his back pocket instead 😄 He always had to be different.
