Who has used what bedliner products on the OUTSIDE of their Gladiator? Not just in the bed but as an actual replacement for the painted body surfaces.

What did you use?

Did you thin it for a slightly flatter texture?

How has it stood up to trail use/abuse?

I had my White Knuckle sliders coated by LineX. The shop that did it is no longer in business. Had my LoD front winch bumper done by Rhino Liner. The difference between the 2. The LineX coating is smoother. The Rhino coating is rough like 00 grit sandpaper. If you brush up against it. You will leave some skin. The LineX a bit shine to it. The Rhino is duller.

I’ve been looking at a couple different ones. I like MonstaLiner but I don’t think they have enough color combos out the gate and adding my own tint is a craps shoot on how it will end up.

Looking into Raptor now and kind of like it for its apparent ease of use and a vast array of color choices.

I’m definitely trying to avoid the rough texture as I don’t want to be a walking scab any time I go to work on the Jeep. Appreciate the feedback there on the Rhino.

LineX can do colors. They matched the paint on my Power Wagon front bumper.

I guess that’s an option but I’d really like to do a slightly more professional grade coating on the whole jeep. Something I can hook to a compressor and shoot myself or do a roll on. I’d think the air shoot will look better.

Raptor is pretty durable, can be tinted and you can respray, brush or roll on touch ups if you need to since you can keep a bit of it color mixed without adding the hardener for touch ups . Like any finish the prep will take more work than the coating. You can adjust the finish with the pressure at the gun and adjust a bit more by the distance from what you spray and how thick you lay it on. The recommendation of 40 psi to 60 psi leaves a lot of adjustment and you can even fudge that a bit the lower makes it kind of sputter or splatter out higher it comes out more evenly and smoother resulting in a more even surface. Never tried getting it real smooth since never had anything to cover on the outside thought about doing a strip along the rockers but went with just respraying the clear. i have seen a video of a guy looks like south America somewhere he does cars and 4x4s and gets it pretty smooth and covers a lot about prep, technique.
