I get what your saying. But that’s the same thing that happened between the Tacoma and 4Runner.

I think it might be hard to see what I mean because the Wrangler came first and it looks like they added all these things to the Wrangler to make the Gladiator. If the Gladiator came first we’d all be thinking they added all this to make the Wrangler.

If you follow what I’m saying.
Yeah I get what you're saying. I just can't see how the JT has a lower BOM. Both having removable tops kind of throws a wrench into the conventional wisdom.

Right. In this case, they're literally taking Wrangler and adding more to it. More standard features, more body sheeting, more frame, forged suspension pieces, additional skids, more storage, etc. I don't see how they'd ever remotely consider selling it for less money.

There is not a rear window wiper. That's gotta cut 2 grand off for sure....

The Wrangler has no competition, so FCA can (and probably has) inflated the price. The JT has more competition in the midsize truck segment, so FCA might adjust their prices accordingly.

Bingo. I think people keep forgetting that FCA needs to price them according to the Gladiator's segment, not to the Wrangler. Also...with all the shared components between the already mass produced Wrangler that's a big cost savings for producing the Gladiator. So I don't really look at how much it'll cost compared to the Wrangler, I look at how much it could cost compared to the Tacoma, Colorado and Ranger because at the end of the day THOSE are the competing vehicles and it will be priced accordingly.

Base of JLU Rubi is $41545..... $2500 more for JT? I'll take that......

Then after all the add on's your like :whew:
I was just doing a little cyphering..... Taking invoice according to True Car.com on a 2019 JLU Rubicon and apples to apples that puts the base invoice for JT Rubi about $43500. Treadlightly and other pricing guarantees here on the forum make that in the neighborhood of $43K? Of course my configuration makes that look like throwing a deck chair off the Queen Mary!

Can't wait for official pricing so I can figure out how to make the best Extreme Overland edition since I'll be sleeping and living out of my Jeep!

From reading his post I believe that RoyalKay may have gotten this from an actual paper magazine at a local Barnes And Nobel, not from the Internet. Right, RoyalKay?
