This may be oddball experience but in my 2010 liberty the electrical is all linked. Something goes out and it effects something else. So I'm just doing like you said, a real plug and separate wire. I thought the aux switch would be convenient for on off switch. But I guess you could just keep live wire to plug...
Okay, somebody help me out. I bought a DC/AC converter once and
you could run some kind of relay off the aux switch to power the relay for a bigger "home run" of wire to the battery.

I'm planning to get a rubicon with the trail management option, then run a new wire to the battery to then install a 1200 Watt inverter somewhere, and then power the trail management in bed plug with the 1200 watt inverter to keep that "factory look".
But yes I could see a Sport buyer doing the 1200 watt inverter to something like this,

According to this, https://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/guidance/safety-around-the-home/home-appliances-ratings/ you could also run a hair dryer or washing machine. This would come in handy for all these overlanding folks wanting to create a home away from home.
I'm sure there is no wiring there by default. You'll have to run the wire from up front back there and set it all up. It kills me that they want so much for this already installed from the factory. /c:
Because max tow. Overland is a beauty and for me an option. But it doesn't come with the wide stance and lower gearing of Max tow. So for those that want heaveest running gear, it's a choice between sport (no tech, manual doors, etc), sport S (modern bad ass truck), and Rubi (the most baddest one except red stitches etc)... My 2c
Ah makes sense. I wonder what the price difference is between a Rubi with those options and a Sport s with all the options and the cost of all the parts that you want to add to the Sport s.

Not your exact question, but I did a similar price comparison between a Sport S with max towing and a Rubicon with regular towing package. Both builds have A/T, 7" radio, black hard top, aux switch, tonneau, and slush mats, so pretty similar builds overall:
