I hate to be the one who has to point this out but a dealership cannot rip you off without your permission. Are you telling me that if a person wanted your car so badly that they were willing to pay $5-10k more than it was worth you wouldn’t take it? If you said no I call BS on you.

This thread is off the rails:computerrage:
Lol like an emotional rollercoaster...but I can see the frustrating parts of it. We want our gladiator and want it now! Some people are more patient then others. I'm broke as a joke and will have to wait till next year before even dreaming of getting this truck so I have no choice but to be patient

Imagine....ordering from online dealer, like amazon....they ship the car to your door....very low overhead...
Tesla. Minus the "to your door". Tesla's will have full autonomous capability one day. Would be cool if the car rolls off the line with your address programmed into the car and it drives to your door. Talk about low overhead.

I heard some dealers have put orders in under fake names in the past just to get a special edition. If found out, I think it gets them in a bit of hot water with the manufacturer...Big if...

Well then as free capitalism. I should be able to buy direct from the factory. This way I have the ability to choose. Being forced to buy from dealership is no different then government contol
you have the ability to buy form whatever dealership you prefer.

And that is why I choose to not buy one new. I will wait for someone else to take the loss.

How is a dealership distribution system like government control? A company has the right to sell their product any way they choose. Comparing a private company selling a product to government regulation is a crazy long stretch. I said it before but in case you missed it a dealership cannot rape you without your permission. If the deal is bad just walk, it is as simple as that.

Its funny how our Tax dollars went into bailing out a private industry that we never saw a dime on return.

I disagree with the bailout of Chrysler and GM and would have preferred that they did it on their own like Ford did. Even though there was no realized ROI from the bailout I would argue that the what’s most likely recouped the bailout money in tax revenue. I don’t know how many employees GM and FCA have but it is a lot and they all make good money. If the companies had gone BK and the creditors took control those employees would have been sitting at home on unemployment and there wouldn’t be a Gladiator. The bailout, as poorly as it was executed, did give those employees a paycheck to pay taxes with rather than unemployment. Just a different way to look at things.

Why them sleezy no good bastards... serious though I'm in Alabama and when I get ready I might go out of state. Haven't really comed through the forum list of "good" dealers to see which ones the closest to me

True but it did hurt me and put others out of business. So while I do somewhat agree it still left people like me in a bad place. Sorry for the rant but that is also now the reason I hate seeing price gougers taking more of my hard earned money that they already stole from me.

You don’t really take a loss, look at used wrangler prices. Any used gladiators that go up for sale will be commanding close to sticker.
