Just like wranglers, going to have issues. Got a massive crack out of nowhere, don't see a rock chip. Dealer says backorder till August and not under warranty. $600 plus install

If it is not covered under warranty it should be covered under your comprehensive insurance policy.
You should just have to pay the deductible...typically $100....

Dude that sucks! It happens though when you choose to drive a vehicle with a nearly vertical windshield. Every Jeep person gets one eventually.

You'd think by now Jeep would just put cracks in during the build instead of making us do it ourselves.;)

If you haven't yet, get your comprehensive to 100 (after this repair). I went through 3 windshield the first 3 years of owning my JK. Twice it was backorder for 6 months.

What the Santa Claus shit! That is garbage, there is no way that’s not a warranty issue. I wouldn’t believe that for one second. I’d put an FCA warranty claim in through a different Jeep Dealer repair shop if that were mine, you haven’t even had it a month!

It’s parts of the Jeep ownership experience. The near vertices Windshield takes a more direct hit from rocks that would otherwise bounce off a more angled one

If it’s just a crack and no point of impact is visible, you might be able to argue it

Aftermarket windshields should be cheaper and more readily available but won’t have the little Easter eggs on it

Don’t get too wrapped up in insisting it be the factory replacement one because it isn’t going to last long either

My 2001 TJ still has the original windshield in it(which is a miracle) but it is almost white or opaque from the sand pitting in it.

Yeah, I'm going to complain to fca and see what happens. There's a gorilla glass option out there for wranglers, why not just save the customer the headache and install it at the factory and charge a few more bucks. With a 61k msrp and a known jeep issue, save the customer a headache....

Wasn't there something about Jeep using gorilla glass for their windshields? Thought it was stronger because of this.
