I use windshield washer fluid...

Actually, I do not use anything. If the windshield is dirty, I clean it or wash the vehicle. I don't ever use the mist feature. And I hate the people that use theirs with someone behind them on the road.

Winter mix rain-x in winter and bug mix in summer because that's what costco carries. For the best looking glass I take the time to clean it with alcohol and a microfiber and then wax it with a high quality carnuba polish wax.

We try not to do that to people, but here in cali we have allot of bugs, so it gets used, its cool when it just cleans right off tho...

I haven't found any issues with the rain-x line and filming but by the same token I've never really seen the benefit of it either. But I also cheat by really waxing the glass but you should see the sleet and snow slip right off.

Agreed, however I use mine on tailgaters which usually gets them to back off. #SprayAGator

Never heard of waxing a windshield! Wouldn’t the ethanol and isopropyl alcohol essentially “melt off” any wax you apply once you spray the windshield?

Huh, it's springtime bugs are everywhere and it's raining regularly.

You're going 250 miles away, it rains off and on, mostly off so there is road spray coming off of every vehicle. There is a June Bug hatch and assorted other bugs.

You're telling us that you carry your windshield detail kit with you and pull off the road to spiff your windshield instead of using the windshield washers which have been standard equipment on every vehicle made for at least half a century?

Can't use your washer if someone is behind you? Never heard of such, what kind of antidepressants do you use?

It will over time but that’s why you use the rain-x washer fluid right? I find is does a good job of leveling the pitting and peppering that invariably happens which helps keep blade chatter and streaking down too.

If I really really cared I’d order a windshield kit and film coat the rock catcher the same as I do my glass headlamps just with clear. Basically like a big motorcross tear away.

If this is true, I am impressed...

Tried the Rain X and do not like it at all for several reasons, it will dry and smear, streak etc. Ohhh works great in the pouring rain, but not much of that just sprinkles here and there and not good. Cleans OK at best.

So I went back to what I have been using for almost 60 years of driving, it CLEANS the windshield, does not streak, smear all that and it will clear your sinuses...

Plain Ammonia mixed in about 30-40 % with clean filtered water...cuts, grease, oil, transmission fluid, you name, does not harm paint and you get a clean windshield!

In a pinch ammonia, clean water and a small amount of dish soap in the washer bottle. If you want to be real fancy you can add alcohol in place of some water if freeze ups have you worried.

Prob cuz it has some of the rain-x repellent in it. I use the rain-x and have for years. Except when i had BMW's, apparently anything but the basic blue stuff eats the pump seals
