There's some talk about it in the Idaho thread right now. Sounds like people are still working on it but there is some good info.

I built a Rubicon... MSRP $60,070... told the CA dealer I’d pay cash and close the deal if they could offer 7% off. They told me to kick rocks...

Short-sighted on their behalf IMHO...

Better some profit than no profit.

Our local economy is tanking (rural Northern CA town) according to many local business owners struggling to stay open. Local real estate prices are also tanking. You'd think this dealer would want to have Gladiators on the street as "free advertising" to other potential buyers.

I bought our custom order 2018 Audi Q5 Prestige at 11% off MSRP within a 3 min phone call last year.

Just negotiated 10% off MSRP on a 2019 BMW X5 for my wife within a few texts with our local dealership today.

All good. I can wait for a Gladiator until the ferver dies down. No sweat off my back. $ ready when CA dealers ready to deal reasonably.

I placed an order with norco browning dodge Jeep, they came just below 1% under invoice With minimal dealer fees. My rubi MSRP was 55k, purchase price pre ttl is right at 51,400 including delivery, and dealer fees. Otd with tax should be just at/under MSRP.

Under MSRP? Yes. Idaho level deals, no.

I've been frustrated with Jeeps lack of info (or even start of build) on the Granite LEs. Started poking around SoCal dealers today. 3 of them had the most fully loaded Rubicons I've seen (had dual top, no trail cam or bluetooth speaker). One of them in Anaheim (J star?) had web pricing close to invoice. Still more than I'd want to pay, but if you are looking under MSRP it looks like they are openly advertising it.

I'll probably keep waiting for mine to come in. One dealer here in town has a white LE sitting on the lot (so much for customer orders getting any priority over excess LEs going to dealer stock). Asked them to match Kent's price and they laughed. So I'll wait.

watching this thread. doubt my local dealer is willing to "deal" at the moment. they sold a fairly loaded Rubi while it was still "in transit", so I see little reason for them to haggle, although they do have an Overland that had a "market adjustment" mark-up when they originally got it, that I didn't see on the window sticker last time I was there test driving a Rubi they had in stock.

I thought there was some place in SoCal that was selling under MSRP. But Idaho isn't much further then SoCal for me.

Thanks all. Going to Idaho = time & travel which = more money than I’d probably save.

I’m in (very) Northern CA and my local dealer has one Gladiator on the lot... asking $5k over MSRP :swear::no:. It’s been there for over a month racking up miles as everyone test drives it but doesn’t buy. I have yet to see a Gladiator driving around on local streets or the highway.

Even if you live in Crescent City, that’s only ~550 miles from Nampa, ID. If your local dealers are charging $5k over MSRP and Peterson CDJR is changing 7% below invoice, you could be saving $10k or more depending on your build. Even if you don’t drive, shipping it back should be less than $1k. Yes it’s a hassle but the money saved is significant in my opinion.

They can ship to you...you just have to ask...less than $500...call Kent...

I can’t speak for CA but it’s the same here on the east coast. I visited a local dealer a few weeks ago as they showed 45 on the lot or inbound. Had a great selection but said everything was selling at MSRP and they were selling them as quick as they came in. Stopped at another lot and they had a few Sport S and they were only discounting them about $1,500. Found a dealer that showed a Rubicon discounted and a “in transit” Sport S with the options I was looking for. Bought it for about 12% off sticker. Funny thing is the dealer with 45 charging MSRP is now showing 58 on the lot or inbound and severl of the ones I looked at are still on the lot..I guess I’m suggesting you just have to shop around.
Good Luck..

^ @TYJ what @lux said is exactly true. I’m on the last leg of this journey...my JT just arrived in Idaho and I’m debating ship to SoCal or fly in and drive home.

In the end will save $10-$15K over the ludicrous SoCal dealer prices.
