Well, you can do two things about it:
  1. Complain to the dealer that they didn't order what you asked for. First look at your paperwork and see if you signed anything with the black top as part of your build. If you did, you are probably stuck. But sounds like you will have a Granite Rubicon to start enjoying shortly.
  2. If you didn't and the dealer really did make a mistake, then they should re-order with the correct build. Of course, with a Granite color match top, you may be waiting for some time to see your build. Also sounds like right now they aren't accepting builds with color matched tops in most colors, so you may not even be able to place a new order with the build you want.

Thank you for the advice. I brought in the build pdf from jeeps website... Looks like I signed the the dealers build sheet without triple checking every line. I also said no bedliner and I'm apparently getting bedliner now. I'll take responsibility for not checking.

Judging by all these posts, I'll take it as a blessing in disguise. I'm sure I can order a color matched top down the road.

There is hope. I ordered on June 6 and it showed up Saturday. Going Saturday to Tri City.

I’m assuming this has black top, fenders, and plastic bumper... all look the same color in photo, but have a less glossy texture than the body. ;{

My JeepCares comment - Ok. So a bunch of us are extremely disgruntled about the Granite Crystal LE continued delay. It’s now being called the Late Edition. Let’s be honest, marketing did a good job of building up the name “Launch Edition” and then gave the impression to us, the purchasing public, that we were going to be the first. I realize that marketing works that way because I also work for a very large company.
With all of that being said, what is FCA going to do for us for being loyal and sticking this thing out? Also, there needs to be more communication with the forum members to let us know what’s going on. There has been very little and when there has been communication we’ve received different answers as to what the delay is.
I look forward to some dialog between us.

I do understand your frustration. As members of the Jeep Customer Care team, we have access to limited resources when it comes to vehicle orders. Our team is able to look up specific orders and see the status and sometimes a tentative build date, however, we are not able to identify why a vehicle is delayed. We do try to relay any information regarding vehicle orders on the appropriate threads, but we do not receive much information about this. We are not trying to leave you in the dark and are attempting to give you all the information we have access to. Our team is most helpful once your vehicle is in your possession. If you experience any concerns, we connect you with a specialist to work with you and your dealer towards a resolution. I do apologize that I do not have more information to provide you with.

I should be speechless but I have given up all expectations of any modicum of customer service. That email said absolutely ZERO to a good customer. They may as well have said “STOP bothering us”. My father, who worked for Chrysler for 44 years, is as loyal as they get and once drove Lee Iacocca, has even given up defending them. They have simply lost the plot so to speak.

This may be crazy but for therapy I’ve started living vicariously through our fellow JT owners as theirs are delivered. It’s a happy bunch and one day in the near-ish future we shall be there too. It’s a good group on this forum so I’m steppin’ out a bit. The excitement of everyone getting their JT in the driveway makes me smile. I guess it’s time to become a glass half-full guy because my bitchin’ ain’t gonna change anythin’. Yes, I know someone will correct the picture I’ve posted to tell me it’s not a Rubi or it’s not a GCLE. That’s okay because it still looks cool and I”m going to make mine look just like only with gloss black wheels. :rock:

In honor of Day 120/Week 17/Month 4 since I ordered my Granite LE, I decided to make my obligatory weekly call to the worthless concierge line. Barbara was nice enough to let me know I'm in C status (like we didn't know that!). Same story, still tweaking the paint, still "hope" builds will start "in a few weeks." Told her thanks, but we've heard that same line for several months now and I won't believe her until builds actually start.

The Silver LE my dealer has inbound was still in transit as of yesterday. Figure I'll drive the hell out of it, and after ~100k miles when I'm ready for a new vehicle, maybe my Granite LE will (hopefully) be in D status by then.

Just got off my concierge call with Paige. Asked to be transferred to manager. Manager, (Susan I think) said the paint matching issue has passed the QA process (outside the production line) and that it was now scheduled for a test run through the production line. If it passes that check then full scale production will be scheduled, her hope was starting the week of 8/26. I assume that would be a big batch of the outstanding orders. First I heard that the paint matching issue was at least out of testing, so we have that going for us at least.
