Once you lift your Gladiator what JACK do you recommend?

Since the 80s, I've had a CJ-7 and two Toyota 77 FJ-40s that I went wheeling with. I never used anything but a Hi-Lift jack to swap in a spare tire or work on brakes, etc (with the addition of jack stands). You just got to use common sense!

Glad to hear you survived using a Hi-Lift Jack. I've seen first-hand how dangerous a Hi-Lift Jack can be and I'd never buy, carry or use one. There are better options and if you really need one there are plenty of off roaders who have unused ones on their trucks

I laughed.. But seriously, it does work well with the scissor jack. Personally I have this bottle jack and it has been outstanding.

That's a solid one. On my JK with 37s I used the aev block and factory jack. Used it at least a dozen times with excellent results. The highlift is a dumb death trap that 99% of people with them strapped to the hood dont know how to use.

Hi lift will get the Jeep high enough to unload the suspension etc where the bottle jack under the axle will not.

This makes no sense if you're simply trying to change a tire. The axle needs to go up, not get "unloaded". If you plan on using your high lift to change a tire you will need to strap the axle to the frame before lifting.

For all those posting these $60 jack bases..... Try a piece of 4x4 and save your money

This makes no sense if you're simply trying to change a tire. The axle needs to go up, not get "unloaded". If you plan on using your high lift to change a tire you will need to strap the axle to the frame before lifting.

In my previous posts I said the bottle jack would be better for changing a tire. But if you break a shock or something else dramatic on the trail and the spring happens to come unseated a bottle jack will do very little to help you.

I personally don't like hilift jacks(from a safety standpoint), but they have come in handy more than once on the trails.

In that situation, you’ll usually find someone on the trail that has a high lift to loan you.
