Don't do it. Find a manual somewhere. You will regret it.
I 100% agree.. There are Jeep devotees (all of us) and THEN there is a second subset, the MANUAL Jeep devotees (the awesome ones of the group).. You've got to get it in a stick. Got to Got to Go to.

I love a Jeep no matter what, but if it is a manual, it just makes it 100 X better.

Those people at the dealership don't give a shit about you. They just want your money. don't settle because you got the shaft.

Jeep chat just told me I am in "C" status and everything Cheryl sees shows that I have never been in "D" status. I have all kinds of saved chats that show otherwise. Now she is saying C and D have the same documentation and in essence are the same. Dealers, 400 yards down the road, time to make a visit. I don't mind waiting, but 9 weeks in and regressing is NOT acceptable at this point.

C and D are NOT the same thing. Ask any of us Granite LE folks that were stuck in C for 4 months. Once we finally went to D ~2 weeks ago, VINs were assigned. C is a meaningless wasteland.

Dealer has a call into his "contact", who I heard through the phone say "OH WOW" when my sales manager told him it had gone from D to C..... Definitely not reassuring by any means. I'll post what I hear back.

They never had me put a deposit down, since I've bought other vehicles there, so I'm not quite sure how they could stop me from walking away. Not a fan of doing that to the dealer, but I'm running out of options. It's highly unlikely that they would be able to trade for an equivalent model/options, even in automatic from another dealer. Hmmm what to do?

I guess on the bright side, I havent been told it will be six (6) months to get it. The question is, will I wait that long. I feel like this is turning into having another child. How much is Jeep college?! I better start saving.

I never dreamed getting someone to take $50,000+ would be so hard.

Your and Trouts experiences are horrifying me. I haven't heard anything, but I dread the notion that this is happening to me as well and I just don't know it.

I'm going to have to check now.

chrcal14, based on Kayakmike's signature above, Troutman and I are flying on rainbow and sunshine even with the time we've put in! I've said all along that i'll wait 8-12 weeks with minimal complaining, but going backwards shortens my ability to maintain a positive outlook. I'll warn others, it's a bad idea to jump onto Cars.com and do a 250-500 mile radius search for what you want minus the M/T, that are on lots and available at this moment.

I love my manual JKU, CJ7 and Cummins, hands down. I hate the disconnect from the road with an automatic. BUT, what I don't love is the JKU's inability to pull even a two-place enclosed snowmobile trailer in 6th gear or anything larger for that matter. I'd love to be able to head up north with the two-place and the Gladiator and NOT have to run in 5th gear. I just don't see that happening, especially with 35" tires. So i'm on the fence in a constructive decision making process.

Pros of a M/T:
- I enjoy shifting
- Millennial theft deterrent
- It's cool/odd to see nowaday
- Wife can't drive it
- Better off road in my opinion/experience with the limitation of throttle on an automatic, even with TC turned off
- It's $2K cheaper (that's a fair amount of accessories)

Cons of a M/T:
- FCA doesn't seem to be able to build what I want/ordered and I'm convinced the M/T is part of that (I can go buy what I ordered with a A/T today off a lot 100 miles from me)
- Doesn't tow as much as a A/T or as nicely (from what i've read)
- Wife can't drive it
- Can't be lazy and get in and go

What else am I missing?

There is no "Auto-park" feature on a manual so you can not be buckled in the seat. the door can be half way open, etc.

Took delivery of my red M/T Rubicon Gladiator on Sunday. Left her for ceramic coat and window tinting.

Tuesday morning I saw my first JT in the wild: a white rubicon! Made my day!

Which one of you guys snapped up the Gladiator at Suncoast Jeep I posted earlier? Wanted to test drive a Rubicon Gladiator M/T this weekend to see if it is worth the wait but it sold yesterday shortly after I posted a link, shot myself in the foot! haha
