FINAL UPDATE: I just talked to go rhino and they are sending me a 4th bracket for free. The rep said they made the decision to have 3 vs 4 brackets to cut the cost. He said they may go back to the drawing board and let the consumer make the decision to upgrade to a 4th bracket as an option.

In my opinion, on a white Jeep like mine... 3 brackets looks really off. This may be the case with all other colors except black where you wouldn’t notice it as much.

In the end I would say I am definitely satisfied with their response and the product is a nice product!

Glad to hear they are making it right. Going forward, they just need to include the 4th set of brackets and raise the price accordingly in my opinion.

Agreed. It just looks goofy to me with only 3 brackets. I doubt the added cost of the extra brackets will be enough to push a buyer elsewhere.

I think it would be confusing offering two tiers. If I was running the show over there, I would just make it a in process change of adding the extra brackets and offering gratis a set of brackets with proof of purchase for those who already bought before the change and just move on.

Yes. Two brackets would be enough to simply attach steps. 3 per side is sturdier and 4 per side is sturdier-ier and look better-er too. . Skip the confusion and package for 4 per side. Good to hear they are making good for the OP

Agreed, at the price I paid for them ($217.19 from real truck), adding even 30 bucks for the to the price for the 4th pair would be worth it to me. I don’t see how most customers would be satisfied with the product Unless it had 4 brackets. I know I wouldn’t have.

Too bad they were trying to pinch pennies on something like that. After hearing that and this thread I won't buy anything from them. What else they skimp on? What's that saying? Penny smart pound foolish? Having the JT pic out there with 4 brackets is gonna bite them in the butt too. So I wonder how many brackets it takes to make up for loss of sales for a set of these?

So Im returning the bars. Go rhino has sent me 5 additional sets of brackets and none of them work. Just fed up with them not being able to figure it out, they were overall “nice” but not capable of fixing the issue and finding brackets that fit in the 3rd slot. Pretty frustrated because I liked the bars and price....

I have attached a picture of how the final bracket lined up...

I most likely will not be a go rhino customer again in fear of having a problem and them not being able to figure out how to fix it.

Did you loosen up the rest of the other brackets and try to fit it? Are the brackets for the other slots position dependent and if not, can you swap positions with another bracket to see if it fits?

Find it hard to believe that if they engineered and shown in a early stock photo a bracket for that position, they cannot get you one that would not fit.

yep tried to loosen all of them. To be honest there is not much play and the other 3 fit perfectly flush.

with the original 3 brackets there is two that are the same... they go in positions 1&2. The other goes in position 4. Initially they said it should be the same as as the forth bracket.. but that didn’t work.

I didn’t try to switch them around because honest I didn’t try. I now have a box with 10 extra brackets. I have 16 total to send back. Out of the 16 total I have 5 different brackets... I just didn’t have the time to switch and bolt on 5 different brackets in 4 different slots.. which could be how many combinations? I’m just moving on and frustrated!

Frustration understood.

Just spit balling this out there as a suggestion. Maybe try a piece of wood on top of a jack on the bottom side and slowly jack up to see if it flexes enough to go into position and bolt in? I have installed various other side step and rails on various vehicle over the years and "massaging" a piece into place was not uncommon.

Tried that, the issue is the way the under mount bolt attaches it lowers the outer holes. You would actually have to manipulate (somehow reform) the bracket to make it work. Additionally the bracket sits longer from past the side of the step and it looks bad

I was going to buy a set of their steps, but think I'll pass now. I have zero patience for incompetence. Was about to buy a set of rails for 724 bucks, gonna wait until something else comes out.

Obviously the bracket isn't made for that location, the only reason they sent it was because you demanded it.

Hole spacing, and overall design isn't necessarily universal, they would have had to design and manufacture a bracket specific to that location, which adds significantly to cost (r&d ain't free)

You're making it sound like they are incompetent, when you are asking for a special accommodation, which is pretty shitty.

If the CS person who is trying to make you happy had gone to engineering they probably would have found out there is no bracket for that location, because they didn't design one for that location. Things are not always as simple as they sound
