The dealer can charge whatever they want FCA will bill the dealer the flat fee what the dealer does is up to each individual dealer

Tazer does not need to stay plugged in for the tire size calibration. Once it is done you can remove. There are other features that the Tazer needs to stay plugged in to use - they refer to them as Live Features:

I do not have adaptive cruise control. But I can't figure out how the Tazer would impact it if you were not using it for Live Features. If you just recalibrate the tire size and unplug - there should be no additional interaction between the JT and Tazer.
The tazer lite is $189 for black friday so I might consider it. Thanks for the info.
So for sure you can plug it in and adjust tire size and then unplug it?

That is my understanding based on my research. I picked the mini because I plan to do some of the Live Features. Still seems better than overpaying the dealer to run the tire calibration.

Anyone feel free to chime in and provide your experience.

I had my local dealer install my new 35" tires and wheels, and they reprogramed the tranny ect. … odometer and speedometer both are correct.

Yeah my dealer said they could flash for speedo but had to get a VIN specific file from FCA. Couldn't do TPMS due the "liability". So I just picked up a Tazer from Rubitrux. It's ok, my experience is the sales part of dealerships can be good but run for the hills on anything to do with service that's not recall or warranty.

Remember guys we are all not bad when it comes to service seems like it is hit or miss at most dealerships, I would like to think mine is one of the better so if anyone is ever in upstate NY in a small town called Owego look us up Royal Chrysler Motors

Another option is the Superchips programmer. Northridge4X4 has it on sale right now. It does way more than the tire size. If you have an automatic transmission, may want it to reprogram shift points for your new tires. Also lets you adjust lights, gear ratios, TPMS value (if you increase tire size, you're probably going to use lower pressure and want to reduce the TPMS warning level), etc. I have, I used, I've had no issues with it. Works faster with more options than the Hypertech I use on my 2007 Wrangler. Only small complaint is you have a one-time install of a connector bypass behind the steering wheel that is a bit brutal to reach. Well, one other small note: While it does have bypass for the auto stop-start, that comes with issues. I'll let you research those. I chose to not use that feature.

The tazer must be plugged in at all time to work?
Do you have adaptive cruise control?
Not sure about the concern about the Tazer with adaptive cruise control. I have the Tazer Mini and recalibrated for 35's. I still have it installed for using some of the live functions. I do have adaptive cruise control on my Gladiator and have noticed any issues.

I'm assuming you meant NOT noticed any issues?

Anyone know if the by-pass module can be removed after tire reprogramming or does that always have to stay in place for it to keep the tire size. I understand the Tazer itself does not need to stay in place but what about the module?

Not sure if I understand your question. I have the Tazer Mini. It has one piece. This piece is installed and you can recalibrate the tire size and then remove. If you wanted to use some of their "live" functions then this same one piece will need to remain but NOT for the tire recalibration. Previous models had two pieces from my understanding but not the mini. I think the mini replaced or improved upon the older version. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
Guess I was just confused cause I watched a video on install of the tazer JL lite and it showed them unplugging 2 wire harnesses and plugging in some type of bypass module. Sounds like they got away with that step based on your comment & the tazer plugs into the OBD2 and that's it.

But now the Mini is plugged under the dash and doesn’t even connect to the OBD2.
