I’m getting new wheels and tires for the gladiator. I’m putting my oem gladiator wheels and tires on my old jk. Do I use the lug nuts from the jk or the gladiator when I put the gladiator wheels and tires in my jk

You will use the ones from the JK if they are OEM as they are SAE 1/2x20 thread and the Gladiator lug nuts are metric.

it depends on how your rim is designed...I went through a LOT of headache a couple months back

The lugs you linked are "acord" shaped, which matches the OEM rims.

Some after market rims are designed for other lug nut types. I had a set of quadratec steel rims and tried to install them with the OEM lugs on my JT. They were tight at first but QUICKLY loosened up with just daily driving. I could tighten some of them by hand when i would check.

I ended up getting a set of ball style lugs and they seemed to hold better. I ended up selling the rims before I found the correct lugs. The fella at quadratec was also %100 when he told me that the rims were find with OEM bolts...so take that info with a grain of salt when talking to the sales rep on the phone.

The rims you linked look as though the acorn style will be fine. Id order the lugs they suggested, but try your OEM lugs first. If the OEM ones hold, the new black ones will also hold, since theyre both the same style. If your OEM lugs dont hold well, then you didnt "open" the new lugs and they can be returned.

In retrospect I wish I ordered one of each type and returned to the two that didnt work...that way I wasnt stuck with loose rims or ill fitting lugs while I wait for delivery of new ones.

I am sure that someone else on here knows WAY more than me but I hope this rant helps.

You will use a tapered lug nut(acorn). You need standard thread 1/2 x 20 lug nuts for the JK and you will use metric lugs for the Gladiator.

Got it thanks. Now my other question. I’m going to move my oem gladiator wheels on to my jk. I’m assuming that I just gotta use the stock jk lug nuts. is it fair to assume that I’m good to go

Yes, factory Gladiator wheel on JK Wrangler will work but you have to use factory JK lug nuts.

The lug studs on JL/JT are larger and require JL/JT specific nuts. Aftermarket wheels require a new lug nut kit simply because the way the mounting holes are designed prevents the large factory nuts from sliding onto the lug stud. I hate that they do that, but it is what it is.

I just did this on my TJ and used the TJ's lugs. The Gladiator wheels look ok, nothing spectacular.

It’s not so much for the look as the tires in my jk are trashed. The stock jt tires aren’t worth much. Might as well get use putting them on the jk for now

With Gladiator wheels? Gladiator wheels will not fit a TJ unless an adapter is used...
