That's not how manual worked even in my Chevy! Once it got to my set temp, the air was moderated to keep it there. IT didn't operate like my Javelin where I had to move the lever over to keep from roasting. Manual in my CHEVY was also controlled by number I chose for temperature. Why would my Jeep be different than my Chevy was?What your describing in your house is the same as the auto mode in our car. Most all modern homes are auto.
I ran this my my home HVAC guy who makes a living being a repair guy for Johnson controls. He sent me a good article that explains it well... he said the same concept for our Jeeps:

in manual mode the temp shouldn’t just change or cut off when the desired temp is obtained, that’s what happened in auto mode. In manual mode, would would need to manually cut it off if it gets too hot. All controls should perform as set in manual mode and should NOT vary. If you set to hi heat and fan speed of 7, it should stay on hi heat and fan speed of 7 until you MANUALLY cut it off.

Manual still cut the air temperature back once it reached the setting. Fan still ran as fast but we didn't roast.
So you are saying you would not accept a Silverado HVAC. It tempers the air temperature once it reaches my 68 degrees. There was no lever to move. How would you control it if you didn't want it to do that? There's no slider or lever - there's nothing you move from C to H to make the air warmer or cooler. You chose the cabin temperature even in MANUAL mode - that's CHEVROLET I'm talking about.
Show me the slider that you move to make the air hotter or cooler in these or my Chevy truck.
Now show me in the pic below where you have a slider and where it would blow hot air until you told it not to - to me the controls look awfully like Jeep - + and - to set the temp which would be displayed on the screen. If the auto button is pushed and the light is on, it's in auto mode. Press it again and it's in manual mode. BOTH auto and manual in GM products go by the temp you set using the + and - buttons. In manual mode, auto light being off, once the temp inside reached what you set, the air ceased being HOT and cooled to match the cabin temp. That was in MANUAL mode - the mode my wife liked to use. Odd, because all she was changing was the FAN mode!
In short, the JT operates exactly like the Chevy system.
It appears you are saying the same thing because it does not blow hot air until you move anything. It used the temp you set - manual or auto mode.
