I must be blind.

I can’t seem to locate the switch for the bed lights that are inside the bed. I checked the manual and it seems to indicate it should be on the lower part of one (or both) of the bed light lenses?

The bed lights are obviously easy to find, but I can’t locate this switch.

I do have the spray-in liner from the factory.

Can someone tell me where this switch is located?

No switch. It’s a misprint in the manual

Wow, that’s a pretty detailed misprint...

Just tap the center cap of the rear wheel on either side of the truck. This will turn the bed lights on. Double tap to shut them off.
Oh that’s not right... you press the lens like you do on cars with lights on the overhead console. The lens is the switch!

No switch. It’s a misprint in the manual
It's not a misprint - it's how they were SUPPOSED to be supplied. My dealer even said in the TRAINING he went to that you were supposed to be able to push on the light - the light itself - and they'd turn on.
So - apparently they changed their minds, changed supplier, or - I wonder - do they work that way on JTs that do not have the spray-in bed liner? Mine seems to have bedliner at the base of the lens, and on the right light, it's onto the lens a little bit. It's like they masked the lights but on the right one the masking wasn't clear to the bed side. I could see it as a possibility that the thickness of the bedliner prevents the lights from being depressed.
Or, it's back to they changed their minds, changed supplier and never changed their books AND TRAINING COURSES as my dealer was trained that you turned the lights on by pressing them.
I'm going to see about taking the lights apart and see if it's the thick bedliner build-up that's preventing the lights from being pressed to turn them on.
It's stupid to have to go into the truck to turn them on - then they only stay on for seconds. If the wiring is back there to switch them, then I guess I drill and put a switch in back there.

By pressing the LIGHT? Which, left, right, either?
Do you have spray-in bedliner? Factory applied?
When was your truck made?

I received a battery powered one with my Undercover hard folding cover. It's really bright, sure one could easily be mounted in the back even with double sided tape if you wanted.

True - and I got 2 free lights from Harbor Freight last month -
but my point is - since this was planned on being vehicle powered, switchable in the cab OR in the bed, and the manual says in the cab or in the bed, and the dealer said they were trained/told in the car or in the bed - is it the bed liner causing the trouble, or did Jeep change their minds? Would like the final verdict on that first. Then I have almost a dozen lights in my shop laying around to choose from.

I'm sure anyone could magnetically attach, use double-stick tape, or use a bracket or other means to run something like a flashlight or other battery powered light back there. I have some battery operated rechargeable LED trouble lights with magnetic bases I no longer use, and when I got the freebies from H-F - they were nice enough, but I thought - here we go again, more free lights, and I brought home a half dozen "free lights" Dad had gotten over the years. I am pretty sure some he got from calling the 800 numbers as seen on TV for information about various stuff LOL. They must cost .05 cents from China when bought by the 100,000.

Near each rear tie down hook there is a round hole that a switch could be mounted. These holes could have been intended for Jeeps original plans for a switch.

It appears, and is most likely that the original plan is in the owner manual, and the training for dealers - push the the light to turn 'em on. Just like for years you have pushed the interior lights to turn them on - there's not a switch for them. It's a lot cheaper and easier to wire and assemble in the factory for one thing - rather than extra wires and connectors and additional parts. Push to turn on lights have been around and used in cars and trucks for decades - why not use them there? That would make them sealed, as opposed to yet another switch to wire and certify.

See the original post - I'll bet that's the original plans. Otherwise it most likely wouldn't be in the book.
I'd like to know what revision of the owner manual the OP had/has, compared to other revisions. There are at least 3 revisions, maybe 4.
I have rev2 and rev3 but haven't looked to compare.
