Sport and dealership stickers "fell off" right away. Rock Hard sliders and Draw-Tite front hitch jumped onto my Gladiator within a month. Also a Tyger hard tonneau cover. Struggling to find more stuff that I "need" to do while staying at home.

found it on Etsy for like 3 bucks. Don't have the link offhand but they make all kinds of different ones like sasquatch, etc

This stay at home order has finally given me time to work on my own Jeep.
Installed a Rugged Ridge snorkel. Fitment of the exterior parts was great, but the air box attachment could use some work.

any chance you can take a picture from driver side toward the snorkel? Wanna see if it hinders the peripheral vision at all.

Also, I like those inner fender liners. what are they?

Been a while since I last posted, so quite a few pix this time...

There was a thread somewhere about key fob covers. I added a GI M1 Folding Key Blade Elastic Rétention Device (aka thick rubber band) to mine. Keeps the keep from popping open in my pocket:

I added the Badgeglow aux board under the hood. Very easy install, but I shouldn’t have ordered it with pigtails as I ended up splicing with shrink tubes (and red electrical tape for good measure!):

Installed the 67designs driver side phone holder. Fantastic product. High quality materials. Easy one handed operation to insert or remove phone:

Picked up the Tyger tonneau from Amazon. Easy install. Not a drop of water has gotten into my bed since. I’ve probably done at least 3000 miles at highway speeds since I installed it. Not a single problem. I also took it off, installed the Built Right bed rails (forgot to take pix of that) and reinstalled the tonneau. There’s a good bit of play inside the rail for the anchors supplied with the Tyger, but they haven’t popped loose after at least 1000 miles at highway speeds.

Was very excited when my Smittybuilt SRC Gen2 front bumper and XRC Gen3 winch arrived:

But had to wait a couple of weeks to have it installed. Wanted to try installing myself, but worried I’d get stuck halfway through dealing with any bolt hole alignment issues that might come along. (I’m mildly tool-challenged...), so had the dealership install it for me. They slapped it right on and I’m very happy with it:

Unfortunately, after they installed the winch and tested it, they couldn’t get the remote control cable to disengage from the socket on the winch. They apologetically turned it back over to me in the parking lot with the remote hanging out of the winch and told me I could call the Smittybuilt customer service number for help.

I took it home (luckily the magnets on the remote are awesome, and I was able to tuck it down inside the winch well stuck to the inside of the bumper where it stayed snugly for the 60 mile drive home), and called Smittybuilt. They were very responsive, and it seems that this is a known issue - the spring loaded retention mechanism inside the socket gets stuck. They told me to slide a screwdriver blade in and push down...no effect. They told me to use the screw driver to pull out the retention release tab...I got it out (destroying the mechanism in the process, as expected), but it still wouldn’t release. The customer service agent said “in cases like this we just send you out a new socket and a new remote cable, since getting them apart at this point is likely to ruin your remote cable.” He set up the order immediately, and the new parts arrived in about 2 days. Changing out the socket wasn’t as easy as it might sound (especially for a mildly tool-challenged individual who never thought he might need short handled pliers or jewelers-sized wrenches in his tool kit....), and in the end I stopped trying to figure out how to get the tiny nut off the negative post jammed up against the side of connection box, and just snipped the wire and spliced it to the wire on the new socket with some shrink tubing. Put it all back together and it worked. Phew. Tried the remote cable connection several times and so far no snags. Not happy it happened (and feel bad for my dealership), but happy it’s fixed and my winch is fully operational.

The winch came with a Smittybuilt shackle mount (their version of the Factor55 ProLink) intended to replace the factory attached winch hook), but it sticks out too far to be able to properly lower the DV8 license plate holder I installed in front of the fair lead, so I got a Factor55 FlatLink Pro. Unfortunately I have to cut the winch hook off of the cable eye, and haven’t gotten around to that yet.

Also added a Metalcloak rear diff skid plate. Had a tough time getting the tie rod bolts loose (tool-challenged again), but with a little help from Mr. Kroil I finally got them loose and inserted the spacers necessary to allow room for the (awesomely heavy duty) skid plate to fit. Other than that, installation was a breeze:

...though my wife was upset that he left a stain on the driveway...
And, finally, added our Overland Bound membership badge:

I also picked up a Blue Ridge Overland Gear Recovery Bag to hold my ARB snatch strap, Factor55 Rope Retention Pulley, and a couple of soft shackles. Very cool product that you can attach to the bull bar when you’re on the trail so your recovery gear is right there when you need it, plus it has deployment holes on both sides, so you don’t have to open it to pull out the strap - just attach one end to your truck and carry the bag to the other vehicle while the strap pays out from the bag. Also picked up one of BROG’s Trail Creeper mats, too. Very high quality products from BROG.

Looking at off-road lights (probably Rigid 360s) and a set of Rock Hard Patriot Series rock rails next.

Purchased the Spiderwebshade about 2 weeks after getting our GCLE. It sat in the rear compartment for 6 months until today. Didn’t realize I needed it until I needed it. Very good for the bald head. When installing there is no need to remove the wipers. Just extend them from the windshield, undo the 4 windshield bolts and hold the windshield while you attach the hooks. Very straightforward.

This was one of the first things I added. It’s a game changer in the summer.:sun::sun:
