I can see that happening  I kinda wrinkled the tool box on my utility trailer awhile ago. Backing it up tire stopped against a rock. . . FYI the stock JT rear bumper is better than expected and tow hook.:facepalm:

Rick came back from a 2 week on site job with a rear fender missing on a F350 dualiie. Ask him what happened. He said he was backing until it sounded expensive. One of the guys at the site was directing him back into a loading dock. Backed Rick right into a 4ft tall pipe that was sticking out of the ground. Rick and the other guy never saw it.

I haven’t read through all of this, but I never would have bought my Gladiator now. When I bought it, 2/2020, I paid under 2% interest and the MSRP was considerably lower than now. My Jeep was $55k MSRP and I paid $47k with a very low interest rate. Also, believe it or not, in 2020 Jeep had a much better reliability record. FCA Did a lot of good for the brand before Stellantis drove it into the ground. Along with raising prices. They will go down in history as the worst owners of the Jeep brand. Even Daimler and Cerberus did much better.

Back in "dark ages" 1989 during Caravan Guard exercise in West Germany on CZ border area I was driving a M35a2 2.5 at night and the ground guide directed me back right on a large tree stump, it dropped right in center of spare tire. Just the right size to fit inside the rim. Stupidly stuck no recovery vehicles anywhere close or a large jack to lift the truck. So winching it off and trashing spare tire mount BII rack. Note to anyone driving one with a winch the aluminum shear pins are garbage use 1/4 2" grade 2 bolts. Not grade 5 or 8 though. ;)

Problem from me at the time I was signed for it. Quite a lot of tasks were considered 10 level maintenance in Infantry Bn's and oddly enough many more things were expected to be within a 11B MOS. Wheeled and tracked vehicle recovery was even in SQD manual for 10 level ie E-1 to E-4. Worse being a known dependable, reliable without supervision.
