Yeah I get the tactics there, but if my Rebel stubby and steel fenders can’t take it then things are way worse than they’re supposed to be and I shouldn’t have been where I am in the first place. I’m just more comfortable with my nose out when I park.

Well, I guess I am the outlier..Again as most of my sites are raw. I just park any freakin' place I want to and when I get home I usually drive right up into the front yard even when there is a foot of snow on..only bones finished products are we ask to back in . But most of the time if it is a finished site and only a few workers I just drive on it and park where ever the crap I want to. I know I am a enter description here ________

Reversing in at the hardware store: Rookie move. How are you going to load with another car right behind you?

Reversing in and overhanging a walkway: dick move. Either you don't know your vehicle or are a jackass.

Reversing in any other time: Don't care.

Complaining about people who reverse in: You never worked in a mine or similar industrial site - where reversing into parking is mandatory for all vehicles, even personal ones.

I just keep backing up until it sounds expensive. Then I stop.

One of the guys I used to work with use to say that. He has removed the rear fenders on a couple of duallies by backing up.
I can see that happening  I kinda wrinkled the tool box on my utility trailer awhile ago. Backing it up tire stopped against a rock. . . FYI the stock JT rear bumper is better than expected and tow hook.:facepalm:

Well, I actually do back into spots many times, "depending". Some parking lots or events, it's nearly impossible to get out otherwise.
As far as LEOs writing up for codes that don't exist - that's simple - they must put down the code violated. If they do not, you have them and it's really easy to show there was no violation.
I love a good fight like that. Show in a court there is no such law, a strike against the officer.
I had to explain to a few hired into supervisor positions that some things they "knew was a violation" but not in the state they were now working in.
On the backing in / overhang hitch. My Wrangler has that.

I believe Nevada is one of the "at fault" states, where you are automatically at fault if you're backing out of a parking spot and hit/are hit by someone. Wife was backing out of a parking spot a few years ago (and I know how very slow she does it) and was hit by a car that zipped in off the street. Barely a scrap on her rear bumper, and I believe the other driver ended up getting awarded over $200k for personal injury. 🤷‍♂️

I almost always back in these day, especially after driving an F150 for 2+ years prior to getting the JT. Easier to get the vehicle straight in smaller parking lots, and I'm not backing into anyone as I pull out. YMMV.
