Total new guy, Bought my first Jeep last week, Gladiator Sport S with max tow. I am trying to understand some of the listing on both the Sticker and the Jeep website. The Sticker says I got the HD Dana 44 Wide front/rear axles and the Jeep page says i go M210 and M220 axles (F/R). I am at a loss as to what that really means. Help the new guy learn something important today, Somebody explain this please. I have been reading this forum and the knowledge out there is incredible. Looking forward to increasing my knowledge base and using my Gladiator for something besides a commuter with attitude.

They're both the "same". The F/R different PNs are steer VS non-steer versions of the wide track D44s that come on Max Tow and Rubicons.

Thanks, that explains why it was listed differently. I have a steep learning curve ahead and hopefully some adventures.

I would add that the M versions are updated versions of the D44. Not all D44 parts (like eLockers) will work on the new axles.

If you got the max tow, then you got the Trac Lok.
It's part of the max tow package.

Actually that's the ring gear diameter, smaller diameter front vs rear. The rear 220mm - 8.6" ring gear, the front 210mm 8.27" ring gear.

The Sport JL's have a Dana 30 front axle, 186mm, for comparison.

It's not a part of the Max Tow package but it is optional.
ok, so if it is not listed how do you check if it is there?

This was literally just covered in full detail on the Jeep Gladiator facebook group yesterday. Join that group and search for that post. There is a wealth of info (and a ton of bs). There are a few members that work for Jeep in departments that are I the know on these types of answers and often chime in.

Max Tow is a specific options packages that would say "Max Tow Package" under the added options section on the sticker. If it's not on that window sticker than it doesn't have it. There seem to be many moron salesman that get the two package confused with the max two packages... they are two totally different packages.
