Thinking of getting JTR on a 37" tires, but want to stay as close to OEM wheel/tire weight as possible.
So far I found out that stock wheels are 23lb and tires are 64lb.
Here are the wheels I found so far that are close to the stock weight:
1. Method MR 313 - 23lb
2. American Racing AR926- 25lb
3. Motegi Racing MR150 - 25lb

Tiers that are close to the OEM weight:
1. GoodYear MTR - 72lb
2. General Grabber ATX - 72lb
3. Cooper Discoverer AT3 - 67lb
4. BFG AT KO2 - 69lb
5. ProComp AT Sport - 71lb

So far, combining MR313 wheels with cooper tires will only increase your weight by 4lb. If you want to go with more aggressive tires on MR313 wheels and MTR tires then you are putting 9lb over stock set up.

What do you think guys? Did you find any better, lighter set up?

I am doing the same thing, so, I am glad you posted this. I have 10k miles now with lots of off-roading, and I am looking at lift kit, rims, tires --- and weight of rims and tires is key.... I like the looks of the Teraflex Nomad, but, the price is high... Did you get the weight of that wheel ?

Note: Personally, I like the Teraflex Nomad with a light maximum traction tire, mud tire. I like the DISCOVERER STT PRO - SIZE: 37X12.5R17LT - maximum traction (75 lbs.).... However, I do not think this is the lightest combo, more in the middle of the road.... Like you, I also want to go with the lightest combo.... I am currently running the stock Falken M/T tires and I think they are fantastic off-road and on-road -- I would get those again in a heart beat, but, the 37s are 82 lbs !

Just checked " DISCOVERER STT PRO" is 77lb, That is not bad, but 5lb more than MTR

Just my opinion but 7 pounds is nothing...get what works...don’t go cheap just to save a minimal amount of weight.

dont overthink it...
Totally agree just trying to offset some of the tire weight since I have 37s km3s

My MotoMetal 20x10 wheels are only 33 lbs. each, which is I think about 7 lbs. more than stock 17x7.5 Rubicon wheels. I think stock Rubicon wheels are 26 lbs each.

My JTR came stock with the Falken WP MT 285/70r17 tires are 63.3 lbs, and my Kumho 37x13.50r20's are 83 lbs each.

So, I only gained about 27 lbs per corner of rolling mass and unsprung weight. Not bad for a 37" tire & 20x10 wheel setup.

What did you @SFBayArea end up going with?
I ended up going with the classic D 18" wheels in alloy and Nitto Ridgegrappler 37" tires. Wheels are the same weight as the OEM, tires are heavier of course, but by 11 or 12 lb heavier. So I guess it should do it.

How was the feel? Do you notice it a lot? Did you regear?

You can tell it has a slight power loss, but not as bad as you'd think. I'm still running the 4.10 gears. I have not yet re-geared to 4.88's. But I plan to in the future to retain all my original towing ability and maybe help improve MPG's.

The resetting of the speedometer & shift points with the Tazer JL Mini, and the iDrive unit really helped to pep it up to where you don't notice ANY power loss. Mine actually feels quicker with the 37's and the Tazer & iDrive unit, than it did 100% stock.

Have you seen the Motegi wheels on a Jeep? I just ran across those wheels, and like the style, and light weight, and they're the correct center bore diameter to be hub-centric (and they're very similar to a set I had on my Tacoma). Trying to picture whether they would look good on a Gladiator, and I'm not sure.
