Will a 35 12.5 17 Toyo open country MT on a Mopar beadlock capable wheel fit on a Stock suspension Rubicon NO Lift?

My dealer says no. I have to do the lift or they won’t install them.

My understanding is yes, the Rubicon will take 35's without a lift. Doesnt matter if it is a JL or a JT.
Any of the other models will not!

Edit: You may experience rubbing on the rear fenders so at the minimum you would have to increase your bump-stops which will lose up to 2" of travel. So if you are going to wheel it off-road you will want to consider the 2" lift so you dont lose any travel.

I don't know the back spacing or offset of that wheel, but I have a Rubi, I have Toyo Open Country RT's 35x12.50R17 and I am sitting at stock height. I have no rubs anywhere. No, it has not been offroad. Work schedule hasn't allowed me play time.

Completely stock height Rubicon

I know I went with a different brand of tires and you want 17" wheels but this is an example for you, that shows what you want to do... should fit. Please check your items against what I list below because there could be slight differences..... but generally it should work.

I am not knowledgable about beadlocks but I was advised against them due to the weight and that most shops (supposedly) wont work on them.

This is what I went with because everything below FITS and DOES NOT RUB!

35" Falken Wildpeak M/T (LT35 x 12.50 R20E)
Mounted on a Black Rhino "Shredder" 20" wheel (20 x 9.5 5-127 +0)

You know what else.... the same wheel and tire fit underneath as a spare.

Trust us and the pictures .... not the dealer.

Side note, I did just buy the parts and do the JScan programer app to adjust the speedometer to make it accurate for the new size tires and it should cost you around $90 to do the same if you get the larger tires.

Hope this helps!

Jeep advertises that a Rubicon can fit 35s from the factory. That is one of the reasons it has the higher fenders. If they won’t install, just by the tires and wheels mounted and take them somewhere else for the install. Shoot, do that in your driveway with a friend and you can do it in 30 minutes or so.

That’s exactly what I plan on doing.

I thought so and have been trying to find it in writing for OP so he can grease it a little and shove it up the dealers kiester!

From the factory, Jeep states you can fit a 35-inch-tall tire on the JL Rubicon without a lift. In that same breath, the company also states that if you plan on actually using the Jeep off-road, you’ll need a 2-inch lift.

Your dealer is full of crap. He's just wanting to make you spend money on a lift that he has sitting in boxes and can't move because they probably want to overcharge you for the lift and then the labor to install it.

In the words of Wyatt Earp in Tombstone...

"Why don't you get rid of him, and get yourself a straight dealer...?"
