Hey Everyone, I'm new to the Gladiator Forum, but have been a Jeep Fan for years now. I have a 2005 Rubicon all tuned, Lifted and is my weekend Warrior. ON THE OTHER HAND, reason for my post. Back in JULY I Factory ordered the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon ECO-Diesel - Yeah BABY. StingGray. My brother works for Chrylser (not bragging), so i was actually the first or, one of the first to place an order. I am scheduled to receive delivery next week October 5th-10th is expected. Cant wait. Will tell everyone about it when it comes in. I got a Base Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel. Cold Weather Group, Max Tow Package, Engine Block Heater, Soft Top, Premium Alpine system. I also have my equipment listing and factory build specification if anyone wanted to see how its made/options.

I do have a couple questions regarding the GLADIATOR. I personally dont like how the Soft top looks with the rear window out. because the exposed roll bar and extra couple inches on top looks aesthetically unpleasing to me.

does anyone know, if you can have the soft top on, remove the rear window, but put back on the side quarter panels and drive without rear window... or no? dumb question but i was wondering. either way ill find out soon.

Also, does anyone know of any soft top roof rack options without having to put on full cage system, personally not a fan.
There are threads on here where u can use quick disconnect options to just remove the whole soft top quickly and then you won’t have to worry about how dumb it looks opened up. U can take the back window out and run it like a bikini top, but I think you have to have all the back pieces out, but I won’t know that for sure until mine comes in. I don’t think there is a way to secure a roof rack over the soft top as options like that for the hard top clamp directly onto the hard top, that’s not possible on the soft top.

I would be fearful of the quarter panels coming out without the back window in. They would only be held loosely on side side. The window actually pulls and keeps them snug so they don’t come out.

Appreciate the feedback, Looking at the Gladiator soft top on other cars at dealership. There are Rain gutters on the soft top. I messed around with it and they honestly seem strong. I think there maybe a Roof rack system by Thule that people have ran on the soft top rain gutters. and then what i would do is put a cargo rack on top of that.

OTHER QUESTION... Im super new to diesel... I know enough about it, but not too much lol. I'm assuming ECOD Gladiator performance upgrades are going to take a while to start showing up available. Want to go Cold air intake right away. I also already have Toyo open Country 35x11.5x17 sitting in my garage still packaged for when it comes in.

id be shocked if a cold air intake actually did anything to improve performance without tuning the engine at the risk of skipping warranty protection

Well apparently diesel engines run naturally very hot.... So biggest upgrades for the Ram ECOdiesel have been cold air intakes. It's borderline the same engine just different tuning. I would of course tune the engine after getting headers/exaust. I also would only buy mopar parts. so if they do have a gladiator mopar intake.. gonna grab that one.

Only roof racks I’ve seen for the JL with the soft top are the full cages that go on them, but I honestly haven’t looked that hard as it’s not my thing. This soft top rain gutters are not very strong and if there was a system to attach to that, it wouldn’t hold much weight. I have a JL diesel with the soft top and some of the top tucks into the gutter in some areas, not sure if the same would be the case with the Gladiator, but I should find out here pretty soon.

6300 miles and no issues. Did an oil change and tire rotation at 5,000 miles all covered under Jeep Wave.

I am just glad to hear there is some sort of rain gutter on the soft top. On my LJ, there was none and if you opened the door in the rain, you generally got a very generous lap-full of water. I am going to replace the Mopar tonneau, which was a required purchase with the dual top option, with a BAK Revolver X4. It has a T-slot track that will allow me to mount a rack over the bed to carry canoes and the like (although I am a bit worried that I will not be able to get enough spacing on a 5 foot bed). Yakima makes such a rack that is very expensive. The Truxedo Elevate Rack is a cheaper option. They are currently removed from the market due to a defect, but supposedly a new and improved version is coming.

Yes there is a gutter, and when you open the door in the rain it allows the water to come pouring out of it and right onto the floor of your Jeep. Not a great design, but they are kinda limited in design since the top comes off.

Just throwing it out there, I found a brand new FREE tonneau gladiator cover off craigslist from this old couple near me. Crazy SNAG - ligit saw it called and rushed there. I put 50 in there mailbox the next day for good conscience. I did not get the spray in bed liner. so covering it will be nice at first. but down the road, i want to get SPRAY bedliner in color red. i think it will pop.

GDE is pretty much the king of EcoDiesel tuning. He will have an EPA compliant tune for the gen. III engine available by next summer.
