So is this by design or glitch. When I turn my wipers on the headlights turn on and dash goes dim, as it does when headlights are on, then turn wipers off and headlights turn off and dash lights brighten. NORMAL?

When the dash goes dim with the headlights during daylight hours you can always use the rolling switch on the dash to the left of your steering wheel to put the dash lights at max brightness.

Tried this last night with the headlights in the off position, and they didn't turn on. Are they to be in the auto position?

I always have the switch set to Auto, so I would guess any position but off. Mine come on during the day if I turn the wipers on.

It's about time manufacturers start doing this...the number of gray cars I see in the rain and fog with no lights on is ridiculous and people have no situational awareness

Yeah its a setting that goes back to the JK. Wipers on turns on the headlamps as required in many (mine included) states. General rule of thumb is if precipitation is such that you NEED your wipers, then you NEED your headlamps as a position indication.

I have city lights in my headlamps so Im almost always operation with the running lights up anyway.

And yes, if you drive a car the color of wet asphalt when it is raining, use your damn lights.

Also, just because the bright and colorful dash in your honda is all lit up and your front drl are on.. you still do not have headlamps or even more importantly taillamps on. Douche bags.

You're not wrong. I think people get used to the lights coming on automatically. They don't think about manually turning the headlights on in rain and fog. Very disconcerting to be driving in fog with rolling ghosts everywhere. And every other vehicle these days is gray or silver.

Hey folks! So my Sport S HAS the option via uConnect but I just tried it while there was a little drizzle when driving — wipers on but no lights (and I do have the setting turned on).
Would the option be there if it wasn’t equipped?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have auto headlights? Let the wipers run for a couple cycles before the headlights turn on.

Did you try with the headlight switch in A or Auto position?

I don't believe it works if the headlight switch is off. I leave mine in the Auto position, and the headlights come on if I turn the wipers on.

Yes, it's another neat feature of this truck. Headlights come on after a 10-sec delay from when the wipers are turned on. If headlight switch is set to AUTO, and if this featue is enabled in Settings. Turning wipers off, there is no delay in lights going off.
