2020 sport S max tow. I have a 275x80r17 Goodyear MTRs. It’s a 34.6”x10.8” and it fits a 7.5 inch rim. I have no lift. The Jeep jl in the second pic has 37s for comparison.

I just ordered falken wildpeaks 285/70/17 for my sport S to use on the stock wheel. Would I have been better off going with 285/75/17?

Depends somewhat on the tire brand, I know on Toyo tires the 75 aspect ratio has the xtreme tread which extends on the sidewalls and is also deeper on the main part of the tire, they look much more aggressive than the 70s, they are also a little taller which never hurts.

2021 Sport S with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 255 /75 R17 115S SL. Super happy with them. Aggressive and quiet.
Those look really good. It looks like these are only 2lbs heavier (40lbs) than the stock Duelers (38lbs). I'm assuming power/transmission/mpg weren't effected at all.

I think the only other tire comparable weight wise is the Toyo AT2 255/80/17 at 50lbs

Thank you. You are correct — no measurable difference at all. Love them.

Just to add, mine were 285/70/17 and look at the gap on the inside rear. I do think if you are going to go more than these you need a spacer! The 285’s are already peeking out the fender. Just FYI

Had my 285/75/70 Falken wildpeaks mounted on my sport S Thursday morning. Tire shop aired them to 38 and the ride seems ok with slightly more noise. I feel like the speedometer may be showing a lower speed than im actually going. I know its only been a day and a half but to me it seems like my gas mileage has become terrible. Is this all in my head? could I possibly see a difference already? Also I noticed that the tire on the drivers side rear comes pretty close to the exhaust, will this become a problem in the future? Is there anything I can do to improve gas mileage? is reprogramming necessary? Lastly how much heavier are the falkens compared to the stock tires and how much of an issue does that cause. I went with the 285/70/17 size based off a lot of recommendations that it was a good size. They look absolutely awesome and im hoping I made the right decision......sorry for the long rambling post

Do you have a lift or leveling kit? can you post a picture from the side and then one from the front if possible? It looks pretty awesome

285/75/17 or 285/70/17s ?
Your mileage will definitely drop with larger heavier tires, but your speedometer is also reading about 5% lower so the mileage will also be off by that amount. I lost about 2.5mpg going from 245/75/17s to 285/75/17s

Its kinda suck seriously. My previous ram rebel has 285/70/17 big and heavy plus its V8. Right now with gladiator with the same tire size im getting the same mileage as the rebel. Around 13ish

That really does suck to know I’m looking at MPG in the 13 range. Did you run into any issues with the drivers rear tire being so close to the exhaust and any tips for improving MPG with that size tire besides not driving like a lunatic

it might get improved since the new big tires just got installed less than a week and I'm pushing them to the limit lol! yes I'm like lunatic but I tried when there's no one around. i find them better grip than the rebel tires. i don't see yet any blinking light on dash that I'm slipping. of course they are a little loud than the stock. but I feel much safer. you will not believe on those stocks how soft they are when unmounted.

about the tire near exhaust, not at all. its all good. i recommend 285/70/17

When i got home and took the stocks out the bed and carried them to the garage that was my first thought about how soft they were

I have the same tires on mine, got it recalibrated and am getting between 17-18 mpg. You are getting less mpgs because you are actually driving further then with the bigger tires. Your truck thinks you are going less distance than you actually are.

this may be a dumb question but how do I go about getting it recalibrated?
