That's what I figured on the passive unlock system - we said yes, they didn't get it checked, we didn't catch the dealership miss until later. She wants it, she said if they can do it, get it done. Bummer, can't do it.

Heated seats she's not a huge fan of, heated wheel, oh, yeah - she likes that.
I do like the heated steering wheel myself.

I installed aftermarket seat heaters between my seats and Bartact seat covers (taped the seat heater to the seat covers). Most difficult part was deciding where to mount the switches and running-placement of the wire harnesses. I powered the two seat heater circuits with AUX switch #4

The seat heater I purchased (two sets)

I used this picture I found and used it as a model to mount the two switches for each front seat, had to extend the three wires to the switch wire harness about 12 inches. The switches are a 3-way toggle high-off-low and lighted when on. When in high the two heater to each seat are in parallel when in low they are in series.

This would be an easier solution to mount the switches that I would consider if doing it again.

I wonder if and how I could put seat heaters on aftermarket RACE seats?

Which ones?
If they are the plastic style with a cover shouldn't be too hard.

Does anyone use either of the top 2 settings for the heated seats?

I find the lowest setting is too hot, except for the first few minutes while awaiting the air to heat up when its cold outside.

Yes- helps the back issues, plus since most of us get into our vehicles with coats on because it's 10 degrees, the wind is 45 mph and snow is whipping around, it takes a bit of time for the heat to reach the body through the coat.
It's on high until I feel the heat then I notch it down to 2.

Those without constant back pain from years of lifting engine parts, transmissions, or leaning doing mechanic work may not get it.

Anyone know if it’s possible to add OEM seat heat and use Tazer to program so controls show up on Uconnect like factory? Maybe one of the Mopar parts reps? One of few options I wanted but wasn’t on my JT. A guy can hope...

So Im thinking its possible.. Im new to jeep though my lady has a grand Cherokee, so vaguely familiar with uconnect..
I recently purchased a JT and I have the Jscan setup, there are lots of options to enable/disable.. IF its not already an option, Im sure they would be interested in working on it..
The 2016 Grand Cherokee has heated/vertilated seats and an older version of uconnect.. Looking at upgrading her uconnect to the newer system requires get a 8.4 version blah blah with nav.. so after installing the upgrade they are talking about taking it to dealer for flashing or using fiatOBD flash program- similiar to jscan..
I do think this doable, Im thinking I need the seat harness from the grand cherokee and need to track down where the seat connects to the bus(under the consol or further up into the dash). there is also a modeul(Part Number: 68277198AB) to control the heaters and fans.
Still some pieces left to figure out... ALso Im going for full drivers power option.. I didn't pay $50 to burn my ass off in Florida Sun.. $500 ventilated seat, no brainer

also note that the control page is the same as GC, our left and right display panels are blank and that is where the seat temp controls are located on the GC, dimming mirror is in the middle

There are also physical switches for the seats - besides on the radio screen.
I'm guessing without looking there are relays involved.
I note when I use the switch to turn the heat seat on, up or down, the display reflects that change for a few seconds.
All of our Grand Cherokees have only had heated seats - dating back years. I'd say the last 4 at least had heated seats, we never had cooled or vented seats, so I can't speak to those.

It can be done no problem. You’ll need the heated seats and wheel module that you already referenced. It goes in the dash under the push start button. You’ll need to build an add-on harness for the module connectors to add to the instrument panel harness, and you’ll need to add some wiring/connectors to the body harness for the seats. The GC harness won’t work. You don’t *have to* get the switch bank with the comfort seat buttons if you don’t mind strictly using the radio. You’re gonna need AlfaOBD instead of Jscan to make it all work, as Jscan doesn’t have all the CSMs needed to enable. If you are truly interested, I can tell you what connectors and wiring to look for that you may or may not have already, and I can tell you what connector parts you’ll need to integrate and map out the custom harness into the missing wire positions on the factory connectors.

I am very interested in this, waiting to hear back on a seat that interested in about what parts(electronics) are included in the sale.. seems it would be easier to get the harness from the seat location to the dash location and use that to create the custom harness, it should have the correct number of wires, colors could be wrong for sure.. any help you could add would be awesome..
