This many (If I counted correctly = 6) out of how many JTs built?

No leaks here - I've washed mine several times, and drove through our derecho with rain driven by 70mph winds, no leaks.
Not saying it won't happen - but how large is the issue, honestly, to have Jeep flag it?
Just wondering......... has anyone truly quantified it?
So far there are no TSBs about it - not that I've found.
Not sure if someone has taken numbers, but there’s a lot more of us that have had the issue in this thread:

There is also a ton of people on the Facebook groups with the problem too. I’m assuming that played a part in the 5 week wait for a window lol.

Mine didn’t really leak at all during driving it, only when it was sitting parked. After a decent rain I could go out and see the water drops along the upper edge of the window inside. When it rained really hard, I actually ended up with a enough water to leave some standing in the storage compartment behind the back seat and on my sub woofer and seat. It also left the fabric on the inside edge of the seat wet. It wasn’t an issue at first, but started this fall at some point. I made it a point to check for the leak based on the number of reports and sure enough mine started leaking. Here’s some pictures of the leak

It's a Jeep, it's meant to be wet. Just think of it as washing the inside with nature's carwash.

Could this be the reason a new hard top supplier is purportedly on deck?

Doubtful, as the glass is installed after the top is on the vehicle.

Mine leaks too, I am going to wait until I move to have it fixed though, as I don't trust the dealers around here.

I thought I had this leak after finding water behind the seat after Hurricane Sally. After checking with a hose I found my leak was at the base of the hard top. Tightened the three inner bolts a half turn and all is good.

I noticed mine has a crack and that’s where the water comes in. Did you guys have any cracks?

I have a 2021 and gave it a full detail today. I checked and didn't see any leaks. I'm really hoping this doesn't happen to me....

2nd this question, it would be helpful if someone has images of the trim pieces when removed
They are tricky, it’s actually only 2 pieces, the center and drivers side are actually one piece. They are just snapped in with normal plastic trim clips, so you should be able to pop them out like any normal piece. I will say to be careful, the dealer managed to break both of mine while taking them off to diagnose the window and had to replace them along with the window.

No. Dealership did a leak test after I brought them photos of the water. They confirmed it with a leak test. Then saw the mising sealant upon replacement.

Is this something you can see without removing? As in, do I need to wait for a leak to find out if I don’t have sealant where it’s supposed to be or can I just see that it’s not there and gave them fix

My window trim is cracked at the same location but not initially. The crack was not there when I first reported the issue to the dealer. Ironically we took pics of the leak early on in this area with no crack. I noticed the crack when the leak became progressively worse. Ironically the window did not leak for the first 10 months of ownership. I think more folks will discover this issue as time goes on and the window failure progresses. My JTR is a June 2019 build. I noticed a couple drips back in May 2020 first reporting to the dealer. They tried to reseal but made a mess breaking the interior trim pieces while trying to seal from both inside and out. Still waiting on a resolution as the first two repair suggestions were not my first choice.

Has anyone tried fixing it themselves? I was thinking if I could get the trim pieces off I could try sealing it. I hate thinking about taking it to the dealership. Maybe some flex seal would work

Very true....it is always hard to tell with these things, as peopel due tend to complain/comment more about issues on forums. So, ther every well could be 50 or 100 people with no leaks for every 1 person that has a leak. This one seems slightly sneaky though, as I have read here and elsewhere that several people did not even know until they randomly happened to find a wet back seat or found it when they looked closely in heavy rain after reading about it here.
