So I got a great deal on an Altitude and ended up paying 45 for it with no loss of equity. I originally was going to get the Mojave however I figured the 8.4 upgraded entertainment system, tow package and cold weather group, two tops, spray in liner and soft tonneau had all of the necessities I want for my kids, wife and I. This is a dream truck and though I might drive 8k a year (company car...5.7 Hemi AWD Charger) this is my truck. Especially after having driven my Wife's Pacifica the last two years (actually love that car). So...I bought the Rubicon rock rails and a, getting the Mopar 2” lift next week, pics will be posted. I am thinking about air lockers down the road but I won’t be a rock climber, more cross country. I kind of wish I had gotten the LED upgrade but being I just installed Diode Dynamics to my FJ which I traded in for this truck, any thoughts on a decent upgrade...I really like Diode Dynamics but heard Oracle was good? I already posted my new 20 rig and will again when I have these two upgrades done. I really wish I had a garage....Also thoughts on the accessory switch? Thanks for the insight, love the forum...fun poking around...Merry Christmas,

I would probably wait on any lockers until you have a better idea of watt the truck can do without and what your needs actually are.

I would focus on quality of life improvement more than anything. If your truck spends most of its life on road then things like upgraded lights and/or side steps to get in easier are definitely nice.

you could also look into recovery gear like straps and a winch/bumper, etc.

Spend some time growing through the various show and tell picture threads and you can get a lot of good ideas .

What you should do next - in my opinion, learn how everything works! Either read the manual, play around with buttons and their functionality, or a mixture of both. I've had mine since February and I still sit in it and mess around with things and learn more and more.

Also, my advice - do lots of searches and learn from others' experiences (positive or otherwise). By way of example, I pored over this forum before deciding on what to do relative to tire size and brand. I've researched various other things before deciding - Tazer Mini, bed covers, etc.

Bottom line - congrats on the purchase! I really like that color.

You’ll probably want larger tires next if you’re about to do a lift. Mine looked silly as hell with factory size and lift haha

Just ordered the auxiliary switch panel. I am having it installed. Looks like a real pain to do on my own. I am checking out tires as well however I’m going to keep the stock wheels. I like them and though 18s are a pain for sneakers it’s still cheaper than new wheels and tires. When I upgrade the tire size I will do a new steering stabilizer as well. Really love this rig. I don’t know why sales for the gladiator are down but this is a really nice rig. I hope they don’t get rid of the truck down the road.

mid size truck is a niche market dominated by the Tacoma. And the Gladiator is a niche within that niche. The jeep pick ups come and go through the years.

my advice on your next mod would be an off road driving school. Youll start to realize how much you can do for not a lot of money; and realize how over built the majority of jeeps are.

Thanks for that, this is my second go round having just traded in my FJ, pretty much my new truck is a family hauler as well as a truck for my woodworking. Secondarily I will be doing a lot of rough road, trail driving. No rock crawling outside of incidental chunks of granite here and there. I’ll be adding a winch over the summer along with a bumper and some armor.

When Summer gets here, I'd paint the inside of the hard top and/or insulate the roof. I'm considering building my own panels from sheet insulation at Lowe's and sheet fabric, after I get a gladiator.

Are your wheels wide enough for 35s?
