Your jeep is exactly what I'm going for, looks wise. I'm planning on a rubicon with painted roof and black fenders. I was originally looking at the AEV pintler wheels but those Borahs look great on yours. That's Onyx, right? Any regrets with that color scheme or wheels?
thanks man. I got lucky what i wanted was in Mojave trim and on the lot so i could haggle. Painted fenders look good but id imagine they end up scratched up pretty easily.

yes, that it an Onyx wheel. I think black wheels are getting played out, personally, and with the black fender that or gold seems to be a really nice offset to my eye at least. I was torn between the Borah and the fuel covert wheel. offset was my first and foremost concern, because i hate poke.

Agree on poke, that's why I was between the Borah and Pintler wheels. Doubly agree on the Onyx color instead of black.

That was also my reasoning on the fenders. Have you had any regrets getting the black fenders? My only hesitation on not getting painted fenders is mine will end up being a $55k truck and I worry it will look cheap but I had the same concerns about scratching the painted ones.

depends on how you view your vehicle i guess. Some people view their vehicle as a point of pride or a statement, which i totally get. for me, my vehicle is a tool. So sure i keep it clean, and like “exclusive” trims; but its going to get used. The only reason i got a gladiator was because its a modern vehicle wirh modern safety features, and even stickering at damn near $60k, still cheaper than importing a 70series or Defender pick up. And to be able to drive down the highway at 80mph totally stable while on 37’s?? I wouldnt have even thought about that back with my yj. People on the ‘gram might care about painted fenders; but people in Africa sure as shit dont, and mine will spend more time on that continent than it will on ‘gram. Nothing against people who social media their shit, again, i get it. Its just not how i use/view the tool.

Painted fenders look great, but they dont serve a purpose, so who really cares? And look at the AEV JT370. Does that look cheap? I guess i dont think so. If you plan on trailing and using your truck, imo skip the painted fenders. You can always decide to wrap or paint them later if it ends up bothering you. If the point of your truck is to build it to make it look good for the ‘gram, do a trail here and there, but roll around in a clean looking truck youre proud of then get the painted.

thats my $.02 anyway.

That was my thought as well, this will def be a tool. i have a fancy car for driving fast. This will be for camping and taking my sons to see the world (or at least the beaten path in the US).

I went down that same road for the defender. My biggest win for the gladiator (besides removing the door and roof) is the third pedal. i'll drive a stick shift until I physically can't or can no longer buy one.

my 2 of my 3 last land cruisers were manuals. The 8spd ZF box in the Jeep is too good to pass up imo. But again, i go with whats on the lot. Had my Mojave been a manual, thats what id be driving.

In 25 years of driving, I had one auto and that was in a 2012 f150 fx4 that I sold after 2 or 3 years. I just missed the engagement of manuals. Plus my sons are going to be driving soon, if they learn to drive a stick i'll share my toys but if not, they can drive mom's car... :)

Very happy with the way these look! Now I just need to decide on the rock rings. I did order the bolts for the time being. Just noticed they didn't the right side out on all the tires.

suspension is all stock. I get no rub at full lock on road and no rubbing during normal driving; but i have not tried fully stuffed and fully locked off road.

lift is on the way.
