thanks again Eddie, was a fun project over the holidays. Saving some money was the icing and put towards some Milwaukee M18 tools. Build came out to $600 but that's including upgrading to a cordless jig saw and palm sander. Stainless parts, hardwares, wood, fasteners, and pooch mat came out to be $300 without the tools. Did the deck per your templates, then bought one of those diamond plate tread pattern rubber mats from HD for the pooch. Had enough wood to do a locking box for seat back, to safely transfer a boom stick or whatever fits in there, wife's seat massager etc. Works out great can can still use the rear as a lounge chair if front seat are moved forward, trifold 6' long exercise mats works as the cushion for one on each side. Attached some build pics. Finished with two coats of tung oil.

Give me a week or two here and I'll post mine to this thread if @smlobx doesn't have them handy. I have all the measurements for with and without the rear tray but I need to prototype it to make sure I have it right and the bumper and snorkel will have priority this weekend.

Any update on this?

Very excited to do my rear seat once it starts warming up here in Canada.

Just started work on my own version of this after seeing how many have tackled this project and made great platforms! I am only deleting the 40% seat, I still have to justify being able to carry 4 people.

So here is where I went with mine. Started by removing the seat and laying out a general template using card board. Then I transferred that to plywood.

I wanted to keep the under seat organizer, as I use that space a lot. I measured out how much the front would overhang, and then screwed/glued in the front support. I played around with some different ideas on how to do a door mechanism, but ended up settling with what would be easiest to cut.

Once I had that done, I sprayed the rest of the platform with Rustoleum truck bed coating. I had planned to take this to my local Line-x shop, but he told me it was $250 per sheet of plywood, and even though mine was small, he would end up charging me $75. I went to the hardware store and grabbed 2 cans for $9 each. Ended up going through about a can and a half, doing about 3 thick coats. It turned out well, and hides the woodgrain which I like. I then added some track so that I could tie down a fridge or a box securely. I secured the rear end with some 12mm x80mm bolts, using some plastic spacers under the wood to try and make it as level as possible. My driveway is angled, but I can take the bolts out and refine as needed.

It got a little dusty when installing, the light highlights it, so it looks a little funky. But it gets the job done.

I'd love to get your dimensions as well. I'm planning on doing this sometime in the next couple months.

Has anyone else had any luck finding baltic birch near them or is this a local thing? I've seriously been trying to build this sumbitch since March but my local supplier sells out of 3/4 sheets as fast as they come in even at $80 a pop
