Hey folks. I've seen several posts mentioning a pinch weld. I've searched with no luck. Can someone please post a pic or two of this? Before I look into swapping out the sliders on my truck I'd like to know what I'm looking at in that respect.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have a photo handy. But I believe what you are talking about is the lowest part of your jeeps body below the doors that is painted you body color. It is flat and about an 1/8 of an inch thick. You may see small circular indents, they are welds. Pinching the panel. I have a Rubicon, with rock sliders as included, so I do not see the pinch welds unless I get down and look for them. On a stock trim Sport, no rock rails or steps, you will see the pinch weld under the doors.

The little ugly part circled in this picture is the pinch weld.

Well that makes sense, and it it a bit unsightly. I guess if/when the time comes I'll have to mask it off and spray with bedliner coating. Thanks

Some sliders (Rock Hard 4x4) will use the existing holes in the pinch weld as extra mounting points, concealing it altogether.

I currently have the Mopar sliders on my Willys. I'm just thinking of swapping them out for something with steps to assist the wife getting in/out.

I have the factory rock rails, wife wanted steps. I installed the MORE Offroad hidden steps, I am please with the product. That said they are expensive and a bit of a PIA to install but very high quality and give my wife the step she wanted.

Do you have a picture of these steps installed?
