Crooked parking-brake lever?

Hi from a new Jeep owner. I’ve had my truck for a few months now, and noticed that the lever for the parking brake is misaligned (or at least, not aligned with the rest of the console). Is that the same on everyone’s truck? Or is mine screwed up? It doesn’t seem to have affected the brake’s function, but I worry about it every time I use the parking brake. Thanks!

No, it does not. I did manage to drop a chapstick cap in the boot once. That involved the center console being removed to retrieve it.

Mine looks the same, a little cleaner, but yes, and it works great.

There is no such thing, in the light automotive world, as an emergency brake. You get basically service brakes, which is when you push on the big pedal, and the hand brake, which is the parking brake.

Snazzberry, thanks for posting the same question I have. I’ve been driving my Gladiator for over a month now and never noticed the hand brake lever till this morning.

My JL did not look like that. It was aligned straight.

My JT looks like the OP’s minus the trash.

There has never been a JL manufactured with an "aligned straight" E brake handle.

You funny. I had one. Alignment was way different that the JT but you’re the expert so okey dokey.

Most have some amount of bend in them, they're never truly straight.

You sûck! Now all I see in my JT is a crooked e-brake. I could have gone my whole life.
