saw a guy at a gas station who just had one installed. he liked it - dry storage and built solidly. he didn't too much care for the 4-5" deep truck bed it left him with. i've considered one, or maybe building one for half the bed, but in the end, part of the reason for going with the jt was for the utility of a pickup. gonna go with a large dry bag for whenever i need ... easy in, easy out. will keep the day to day tools in under seat storage.

I’m not a defender of Decked - but I do want to point out that it is not held in by double sided tape. There are stainless steel anchors at each corner that hook into tie down points. It is quite well anchored. However, the lids for the small “ammo cans” are not super secure, and if you are bouncing around off road those can pop out.
Thanks very helpful!

I bought the Decked system and really like the organization and security of all the gear I like to carry. I feel that it is well built and quite sturdy. I like the weight in the bed for driving on snow and ice. You do lose the bed rail height for securing cargo as well as some space for all of the Decked components. I purchased the Maximus sport bar which raises the available side wall for larger cargo.

Love mine. Went with a bed slide on top of it and it works great.

It bolts into the front factory hook holes and has jhooks at the back. You would have to pry for days to get it out and you would tear it to pieces. I’ve done some bouncing and never had an ammo can open up on me. They both leak water so I drilled a hole in the bottom of each and no issues now.

lots of used ones pop up. Then you don’t risk as much if you want to use and modify for camper. There’s really not much to break to need the warranty of it.

Reviving this with a new question attached.
A little background...I rarely haul anything larger than a cooler. Most of the time I am just lugging around some small action packers with tools, recovery gear and maybe some folding chairs. I got the Gladiator to make towing our camper trailer easier than it was with my JLU and be able to carry more stuff when going camping.
I "think" that since most or all of the small stuff I am currently hauling would fit into the decked drawers and on the camping trips I could just strap the bigger stuff and any additional stuff on top of the decked platform. My only concern is if I will regret that plan during poor weather, uncovered gear on top of the decked. Initial thought is get a shell, most likely the BestTop SuperTop for me, which I would put up when camping and just leave open the rest of the time.
As you see I have answers in my head, just don't know how realistic they are lol. Soooo...

Anyone who has the Decked system regret getting it or have any warnings before I pull the trigger?

I had TruckVault.com build me a custom drawer for the bed of my truck that left me room for a water tank, fridge, battery and propane tank.
They can build anything you like and it can be weatherproof like the Decked System or carpeted like I have that lives inside my Alu-Cab canopy.

I’ve had mine for almost a year and still love it. You do loose the bed rail, (side wall) height to contain items in the bed. I went with the Maximus 3 sport bar to raise my bed rail height. Works great for me. I carry large boxes that are easy to tie down. My Decked is full of all the stuff I like to carry.

I still use my trail rail setup regularly to tie down gas cans and such. They even make a rail you can attach to the top of the deck for even more tie down options. If I were to do my whole bed setup over I would do like an ace cap (instead of my softopper) and the decked system. Like I said though, it's the king of keeping small to medium stuff organized.

Today my wife needed to move two shelves. One we broke down into two halves. We put then in her suv and hauled them but even if we had used my truck the same amount would have fit.
Do not buy a new decked setup. Find a good used one on marketplace or similar.

I am looking around to find a used one in the region, no luck yet. I think I will post 'wanted to buy' in the marketplace and see how it goes (while watching this thread). thanks.

Thanks. I have the trail rail system as well as the rail systems on the Decked. I also mounted tie downs in all four corners of the bed where the sport rail attaches to the truck bed. I have a lot of tie down options.

Mark - how hard was it to install the Maximus-3 bar? Looks like two holes on each side and then do they bolt somewhere else in the bed? I don’t have the rail system in my bed and looking for a bar that doesn’t utilize that system. Ive been looking at this one and haven’t came across an install video or anything yet.

I drilled a hole in each corner and used a backing nut that was supplied. I felt it was fairly easy. I had to take the trail rail off to attach the front bracket, and then reinstall the rail. It uses. A couple of the same holes as the rail. I like the bar. It’s well built, well thought out, and suits my needs. I ll install a brake light and flood lights when I find something I like. Let me know if you want detailed pics. I can get them tomorrow.
