Thinking of adding the 3.5" lift on the Mojave gladiator since they have a Mojave shock kit so you can use the stock Mojave shocks

Anyone who has used this lift how do you like it on the Mojave?

Also from what I've seen the Mojave supposedly sits 2" higher than a Rubicon already. Does this lift put it at 5.5" higher than a rubi?

Thanks

Isn't the Mojave only 0.5 inches taller than the Rubicon? Or what am I missing?

Rubicon - 11.1 inches ground clearance
Mojave 11.6 inches ground clearance

I am not sure what model MC uses to base their lift on.. But they do use the front. So if they use a Rubi then they are talking 3.5" higher at the front then a stock rubicon.. Your Mojave if its springs are 2" taller to begin with then you would only gain 1.5".. I dont believe its 2" taller though. Other then if you include the bulged hood.

Yea im not sure myself. Just seen a lot of debate in the forums on it and someone actually linked a (dont quite me on source) car and driver article that they reported the mojave sits 2" higher than the rubi. Again I have no first hand experience myself

On the left are the new MetalCloak springs that come with the 3.5" GameChanger lift. They're 5 inches taller than the stock springs, which are on the right. If you're running the Gladiator stock—without steel armor everywhere—you'll see between 3.5 and 4 inches of additional height over the stock height once you've installed the lift. I had the same question before I took the plunge and there were no satisfying answers. MetalCloak assumes if you're spending the coin on their lift you're probably a serious off-roader and will have armor—steel bumper, winch, skid plates, rock sliders, etc. All that weight helps counter the lift to bring it into their 3.5" spec.

Attached are pictures that illustrate the overall height of the lifted Jeep Gladiator Mojave in addition to the height clearances between the tops of the 37" tires and the bottoms of the fender flares. I didn't measure the stock configuration, so I don't know how what the overall changes amount too. If someone else can measure and post pictures of the stock configuration that will allow the community to see the differences.

For what it's worth, I installed a Bestop Sunrider at the same time I did the tires, before I did the lift. Before the lift I could easily pull into the garage with the sunrider open. Plenty of clearance. Now there is no room for me to back into my garage with it open. So, if you're sporting a sunrider and your new to lifted vehicles, just remember that all those little habits like leaving your top open/up, will need to adjust to take into account changes in your vehicle height.

In other words, do not pull into your garage with a sunrider or similar style top open after lifting your vehicle. :)

Just for clarity, Just the springs swapped out? You left all else the same? Any feedback on how it rides and feels versus the change out. Do you lose much of what makes the Mojave awesome?

I believe it’s an inch higher in front...

If the lowest point for ground clearance is one of the pumpkins, then I don’t thing sprung height makes any difference, that would be tire related...I’m pretty sure.

No, I swapped out the front and rear springs, the front upper and lower control arms, the tie rod, drag link, steering stabilizer, front and rear track bars, front drive shaft, and rear brake lines. The MetalCloak 3.5" GameChanger kit for the JT Mojave is what I installed. This is my build thread.

I retained the factory Fox 2.5" remote reservoir shocks front and back. The MetalCloak lift provided upper and lower shock brackets for the front to relocate the stock shocks to accommodate for the geometry changes. This involved installing lower, outboard shock relocation brackets on the front— they turn the stock shocks 90°. The upper shock relocation brackets provide additional clearance and allow the stock shocks to be used with the taller springs.

The stock ride quality of the Mojave is by far the best Jeep offers. It's extremely soft and responsive. I didn't want to compromise the ride by doing a lift. If you own a Mojave you paid a premium for the suspension. The shocks are the biggest part of that. The ride quality is different post lift, but I think better. It feels stiffer if you have the tire pressures too high. I chalk tested the 37x12.5x17 Nitto Trail Grapplers and had to drop the PSI down to 27-28 with the tires cold to get full tread contact. This softened the ride to be better than stock. Plus all the joints in the MetalCloak hardware are soooo much better than stock. It feels more solid!

In summary, with the extremely high quality MetalCloak lift hardware, heavier tires and wheels, and lower tire pressures I think the new lift is a big improvement over the stock ride. Everyone's preferences, build, and driving conditions are different, so you'll have to decide for yourself what you're going for. However, I'm quite happy.

I really appreciate the time guys like you take to explain all of this to a newbie like me. It is really helpful.
