Well let me convince you to save your money.. That rear bumper provides less protection then the Mopar steel rear with sliders. The front with its high winch mount does a fairly good job at blocking airflow to our engines & that lack of airflow is one of the biggest issues we have with heat.

Those are at least my reasons for why neither of those would ever make their way onto my JT.
Yada, yada, yada. But the coolness factor is off the chain! (Getting close).

Stop it! I love to live vicariously through others. Bro, have another couple drinks and pull that trigger! You'll be shocked in the morning but giddy as fuck by afternoon.
As the evening wears on, you make more and more sense...

Were you able to use the factory skid plate or does RR have their own?
I just sold my RR HD stubby with skid plate. here is a good picture showing off the skid plate. I found it a good place to mount my plate.

You do you boo.. But if ya do send me your address... I'm going to send you a silver sharpie to write my name on the inside of it so in a few years when you forget all about this you pull it off & your reminded of me..

Dont get me wrong. That is a very very good looking set of bumpers. You would be hard pressed to fine a better looking pair.

Really 2700 isnt that bad. Front bumpers arent that bad, but between the 2 leading rear bumpers in my shopping list are 1700 shipped (JCR) & 1700 for pickup (red summit) both prices including powder coat. So for the cost of 2700 for the pair its really about 1k for the front. My current front bumper isnt too awfully far off from that (about 800 shipped for a stubby).
Yes rear bumpers are very pricey. There is no stubby rear, full width, some wrap. My Motobilt rear was at least 2x my Motobilt front stubby.

Indeed.. Part of that is supply & demand.. More companies make the front since they have been around for much longer. Most JK fronts work (pretty much all do with minor tooling) so there has been lots of them around for a long time. The JL helped adding to that. The rear's on the other hand we just don't have many options. None that I personally really like. I have reached out to a local fabricator to make me a one off. Waiting for a design back now & I wouldn't be surprised if I was into it 1700 without the powder coating.

Liquor Attorney. So not all bad...
Full width for the win! I like stubby for crawling and approach functionality. I prefer fender protection these days as my crawling days were left long ago. More of an overland build.

I have this exact bumper on order. I like it because (a) clearance, but (b) fender proection and (c) its a BEAST from ARB. I can't wait! They just released their rear bumper too - not sure I am as impressed but we'll see.

There is also a LOT more material in the Motobilt rear full wrap than their stubby. And shipping is 150lbs on it. It's just a much larger piece to make and ship. $1700 for custom is great, you can spend $1700 non custom. The Motobilt was supposed to arrive today, UPS delayed it, prob didnt fit on truck. Is $1500 bare if you don't have Rubicon and need the side mounts.

Bigger & more materials for sure. Especially in the case of the moto with the wrap around bed protection. But front bumpers that use as much material as a beefy rear are still cheaper (within the same brand). Manufactures gotta get their money back for the development & the tooling setup. In a few years were likely to see them equalize, but definitely not there yet.

And yeah if I spend 1700 I am not going to be mad. When he asked me for a budget I told him to start at a grand. Hes going to try to style it to match my Ace front bumper & have the wrap around protection. Also... No integrated hitch. Just a bolt on for when its needed so I expect that the main plate will be a thick boi.

I split the difference with a LOD midwidth. Very happy with the aesthetic and function for the price. Only other bumper I would really want is AEV or factory but no way I am spending that type of money

How many members are there? That's how many opinions you'll get. You can't do it wrong, it's your truck! There are reasons for BOTH types - choose your driving style, your need, (on or off road, weight savings vs. Panzer tank effect and so on) and choose.
There's a lot of reasons everyone chose what they did - none are wrong.
What are your plans for the truck, how will you use it - move from there with the info you get.
You definitely have a point. It's a loaded question, I'm not even sure why/how to respond. 100% personal preference, and WTF your goal is. BUT, my .02 is tight, buried winch, doesn't look all weird and bulky. Some go for the big bulky thing for some reason. Just adds weight and hampers approach angle.

After a lot of thinking I went with the Stubby, although we don't crawl, we overland. It just gave the vehicle a meaner, tougher look. In Cali we are required to have a front Lic Plate so after a little re-engineering of an after market bracket, I have a front plate.
